Is the 2025 Genesis GV70 a good car?

The 2025 Genesis GV70 stands out as a compact luxury crossover that leans hard into style, craftsmanship, and technology. It offers distinctive design, an upscale cabin, standard all-wheel drive, a generous cargo area, and a broad range of equipment that helps it feel special in a crowded luxury SUV segment.

If you want a luxury SUV that prioritises visual presence, a polished interior, and strong feature content, this model fits that brief well. The market also shows 29.9% of listings as good or great deals, which adds some shopping flexibility.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV70 reliable?

The 2025 Genesis GV70 brings strong safety credentials, including an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation and five out of five stars in NHTSA crash tests. It also benefits from a rear-wheel-drive-based architecture engineered specifically for Genesis, rather than sharing its core structure with front-wheel-drive Hyundai and Kia crossovers.

For used buyers, that combination suggests a reassuring ownership profile, though long-term risk still depends on maintenance history, mileage, and how the vehicle was driven and serviced.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Genesis GV70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 144 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,751 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Genesis GV70's resale value?

The current average of $53,751 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,124 CAD.

That price movement suggests the GV70 has become more accessible in the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, though, the softer trend means you should expect more pressure on resale if market conditions stay similar. If you buy well now, you may reduce some of that downside by starting from a lower acquisition cost.

Should I buy a 2025 Genesis GV70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.85% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,961 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $53,751 CAD average.
• It offers a fresh style focus and a well-executed electric variant.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $63,481 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $53,751 CAD average.
• It adds a wide OLED display and a comprehensively upgraded technology package.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around choice if you want the current-year balance of price, inventory, and feature content. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play; if you want the newest cabin tech and can stretch your budget, the 2026 is the upgrade path to consider.
