Is the 2025 GMC Canyon a good car?

The 2025 GMC Canyon stands out as a midsize pickup that leans more upscale and more capable than many shoppers might expect from its size. It is offered only as a four-door crew cab with a five-foot bed, and its standard equipment is generous, including a digital instrument panel, a large infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless smartphone integration, an off-road suspension, and driver-assistance features.

It also brings a strong standard powertrain and serious off-road hardware, while still being smaller and easier to manoeuvre than a full-size truck. If you want a midsize pickup with a premium feel, strong performance, and a distinctive design, this one fits that brief well. 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Canyon reliable?

The 2025 GMC Canyon is presented as a well-equipped, capable midsize pickup with a strong standard powertrain and a broad set of features. Its appeal comes from combining premium touches with serious off-road hardware and everyday usability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the more off-road-focused versions may be less pleasant to live with on pavement, so condition and previous use matter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Canyon?

It is a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 166 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.66% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,306 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $55,228 CAD sits slightly below last year's $59,169 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers' favour, which can help you negotiate today. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should stay realistic if the market remains competitive. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.66% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,566 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $55,228 CAD average.
• It adds a tougher off-road package with more rugged hardware.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds fresh appearance and off-road updates.
• It keeps the Canyon’s upscale, capable character.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around choice if you want the current pricing environment and a well-equipped midsize truck with strong capability. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value play, especially if you can find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
