How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV cost?

Prices have softened 20.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV earns an expert rating of 6.5/10.

The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

It stands out for its strong value proposition, generous range, comfortable ride, and competitive pricing for an EV. The main trade-offs are its lack of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus performance that is more adequate than exciting.

There are 28.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV reliable?

The Equinox EV’s expert assessment points to a well-rounded electric crossover that focuses on everyday usability rather than flash. Its range, ride comfort, and value are the main strengths, while the cabin tech experience is the biggest weak spot.

The performance notes suggest the powertrain is straightforward and easy to live with, with smooth acceleration, one-pedal driving, and regenerative braking that should feel familiar after a short adjustment period. The cost-effectiveness notes also indicate that the entry-level LT is the economical choice and does not feel stripped out.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about mechanical complexity and more about whether the software and charging experience suit your habits.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT is the economical choice and does not feel stripped out, while the RS adds larger wheels, blacked-out styling elements, red interior accents, and a few added convenience and safety packages.
• Powertrain: You get a single 220-horsepower electric motor with front-wheel drive in standard form, while available all-wheel drive adds a second motor and raises output to 300 hp. The front-drive version is the efficiency play, while AWD brings quicker acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with steering intervention, automatic high beams, and GM’s safety alert seat. In Canada, Active Safety Package 2 is standard and adds a surround-view camera system with rear pedestrian alerts and automatic braking, side bicyclist alert, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and intersection braking. Active Safety Package 3 adds a semi-automated parking system and Super Cruise.
• Infotainment: The cabin centres on a 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in. There is no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, so make sure you are comfortable living without smartphone mirroring.
• Range & charging: The front-drive model is estimated at up to 513 km of range, while AWD is estimated at 494 km with the standard 11.5 kW onboard charger or 463 km with the 19.2 kW charger. DC fast charging tops out at 150 kW.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the vehicle has typically been charged, and review how much battery warranty coverage remains. A car that has spent most of its life on home charging is often easier to evaluate than one that has relied heavily on frequent DC fast charging.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV is offered in 2 trim levels: LT and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice if you want the most affordable way into the Equinox EV without feeling shortchanged. It keeps the core range, comfort, and safety strengths intact, and the available AWD upgrade gives you more performance if you want it.
• RS: Choose this if you want the sportier look and the added convenience and safety packages that come with the trim. It is the more style-forward option, but the LT remains the smarter buy for most shoppers.

Active Safety Package 2 is standard in Canada, and Active Safety Package 3 is available for shoppers who want Super Cruise and the semi-automated parking system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 125 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,223 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV's resale value?

The current average of $41,225 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,652 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to be realistic on asking price. If you plan to resell later, the current trend points to a softer market than last year, so condition, mileage, and equipment will matter more when it is time to list. Well-equipped examples with desirable safety and convenience features should hold up better than bare-bones versions.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.19% compared with last year.
• The 2025 adds stronger value, more range, and available Super Cruise.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,851 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $41,225 CAD average.
• It offers a lower-cost entry into the same electric crossover formula.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2025 if you want the stronger overall package and are shopping for the best mix of range, safety, and value. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the better price-sensitive path and still delivers the core Equinox EV experience.
