How much does the 2025 Acura MDX cost?

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2025 Acura MDX is a strong choice if you want a refined three-row luxury SUV with straightforward technology and a comfortable, upscale feel. Its user rating is 3.8/5, and its expert rating is 7.83/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It stands out for stylish design, comfortable accommodations, and easy-to-use technology, while the refreshed cabin and simplified controls make it feel more intuitive than before. The trade-offs are clear: the standard V6 is somewhat underwhelming, fuel economy is poor, and the third row is cramped.

With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura MDX is presented as a reliable, safe, and refined three-row SUV, with expert commentary emphasizing its strong overall polish and dependable day-to-day behaviour. Its standard powertrain is described as tried-and-true, and the vehicle’s driving dynamics are smooth, consistent, and easy to trust.

The standard AcuraWatch suite is tuned for improved accuracy and refinement, and it performed well in testing with only minor quirks. Acura also adds convenience and confidence through standard driver-assistance hardware such as adaptive cruise control, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking.

If you plan to keep one long term, the main ownership risk is that the MDX’s fuel economy and powertrain limitations may become more noticeable over time than any reliability concern.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX Tech is nicely equipped, while the Platinum Elite A-Spec adds a sportier look and more luxury content. The Type S Ultra sits at the top with maximum acceleration and handling, but it is also the most expensive choice.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-litre V6 makes 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic, and SH-AWD is standard. It is smooth and capable, but not especially quick, and fuel economy suffers if you use Sport settings often.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking. The Type S Ultra adds extra front radar and camera hardware for front cross-traffic alert, evasive steering warning, active lane-change assist, and cornering speed assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa Built-in, Google Built-in, AcuraLink connected services, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The system is a major improvement over the old touchpad setup.
• Fuel efficiency: Most trims are rated at 11.2 L/100 km combined, while the Type S uses 12.4 L/100 km combined. In testing, the MDX averaged 15.3 L/100 km.

Which 2025 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• MDX Tech: This is the best-value starting point because it is already nicely equipped and gives you the refreshed infotainment system, standard SH-AWD, and the full AcuraWatch safety suite without pushing the price too high.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier appearance and a step up in presence without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the luxury-leaning sweet spot if you want the most upscale feel short of the Type S Ultra, plus the added visual flair and premium equipment.
• Type S Ultra: Pick this only if you want the strongest performance and the most advanced hardware, and you are willing to pay for it.

The Type S Ultra also gets additional safety hardware and features beyond the standard AcuraWatch setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 177 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.49% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $59,458 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $59,458 CAD sits slightly below last year's $66,423 CAD.

That price movement suggests the MDX has become more attractive to used buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar immediately. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer market, but resale upside could be more limited if prices stay under pressure. For a seller, the current trend points to a market that rewards competitive pricing more than patience.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX safe?

The 2025 Acura MDX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

All MDX models come standard with AcuraWatch, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking. The system performed well in testing, with only minor quirks such as one false lane-departure notification and some difficulty with a tricky T-shaped intersection.

The Type S Ultra adds extra front radar and camera hardware that enables front cross-traffic alert, evasive steering warning, active lane-change assist, and cornering speed assist. One caveat is that the lane-departure warning notification wobbles rather than vibrates the steering wheel.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.49% compared with last year.
• The refreshed cabin and simpler infotainment make this year especially appealing.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $51,871 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $59,458 CAD average.
• It offers a well-rounded luxury-SUV package with strong engines and lots of standard features.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It carries over the refreshed formula with only minor colour updates.
• It keeps the same comfortable, easy-to-use, value-focused character.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around pick if you want the refreshed infotainment, improved usability, and a strong mix of comfort and value. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better bargain, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the same formula with minimal changes.
