How much does the 2025 Acura MDX cost?

There are 168 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2025 Acura MDX earns an 7.83/10 expert rating, and it is aimed at you if you want a refreshed three-row luxury SUV that prioritises simplicity, sophistication, and refinement. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Its appeal comes through in the easy-to-use controls, intuitive infotainment, comfortable accommodations, and polished overall presentation. The trade-offs are clear: the standard V6 is somewhat underwhelming, fuel economy is poor, and the third row is cramped.

With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura MDX is presented as a refined, reliable luxury SUV with a strong emphasis on straightforward controls and a user-friendly interface. Acura’s updated hardware helps its driver-assistance systems operate with improved accuracy and refinement, which supports day-to-day confidence.

The standard AcuraWatch suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking. In testing, the system performed well overall, with only a minor false alert and a few edge-case limitations.

For long-term ownership, the main risk for used buyers is that the MDX’s refinement does not extend to fuel economy, so running costs may stay higher than you expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The MDX lineup adds a new Platinum Elite A-Spec trim level for 2025, and the base Tech trim is described as nicely equipped. You should pay attention to the feature jump between the lower trims and the more luxurious or sportier versions, especially if you want the upgraded seats and added visual presence.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-litre V6 makes 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard SH-AWD. It is smooth and capable, but it is not especially quick, and fuel economy can drop if you use Sport settings often.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking. The Type S Ultra adds extra radar and camera hardware for additional functions.
• Infotainment: The new system uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Google Built-in, Alexa Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. It is a major improvement over the old setup and is designed to be straightforward to use.
• Fuel efficiency: Most MDX trims are rated at 11.2 L/100 km combined, while the Type S uses 12.4 L/100 km combined. In testing, the MDX averaged 15.3 L/100 km.

Which 2025 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Tech: This is the value-focused choice if you want the MDX’s core strengths without stretching to the pricier trims. It is nicely equipped and gives you the refreshed infotainment, standard SH-AWD, and the full AcuraWatch safety suite.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and a step up in presence without going all the way to the top of the range. It sits in the middle of the lineup and should suit you if style matters as much as equipment.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value pick if you want the most luxurious feel with a sportier appearance. It adds the upgraded seating and the most upscale presentation short of the performance model.
• Type S Ultra: Pick this only if you want the most powerful and most feature-rich MDX. It brings the turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, the highest output, and extra camera and radar-based safety functions, but it is the most expensive choice.

The Type S Ultra also gets additional safety hardware and features that are not part of the standard MDX setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 168 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $59,778 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $59,778 CAD sits slightly below last year's $66,846 CAD.

That price movement suggests the MDX has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help you get more vehicle for your money today. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if the market stays soft. If you buy well now, you could reduce some of the depreciation pressure by starting from a lower entry point.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX safe?

The 2025 Acura MDX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and it also carries the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking. The Type S Ultra adds front cross-traffic alert, evasive steering warning, active lane-change assist, and cornering speed assist through extra radar and camera hardware.

One caveat is that the lane-departure warning can feel less natural than some rivals, and the lane-centring system can feel intrusive when used in the wrong conditions.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.57% compared with last year.
• The refreshed infotainment and simpler controls make this year’s MDX notably easier to live with.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $52,037 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $59,778 CAD average.
• It is a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong engines and lots of standard features.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It carries over the refreshed formula with only minor colour changes.
• It stays focused on comfort, quality, and easy-to-use technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most appealing version of the MDX’s refreshed formula, the 2025 is the one to target. If price matters most, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the same basic package and do not mind paying for a newer model year.
