Used 2024 Volvo XC90 for Sale near Langley, BC

How much does the 2024 Volvo XC90 cost?

Prices have softened 14.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 184 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Volvo XC90 a good car?

Yes — you get a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal with some clear compromises. The 2024 XC90 stands out for its timelessly beautiful design, distinctive luxury-SUV presence, and comfort-focused character, while also offering a plug-in hybrid powertrain for buyers who want electrified flexibility. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: it is showing its age in several ways, its Pilot Assist behaviour is a concern, and value for money is questionable. Even so, the model’s combination of style, comfort, and safety makes it a strong fit if you want a refined three-row luxury SUV rather than something flashy or overtly sporty.

38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Volvo XC90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The XC90’s appeal is reinforced by its comfort, strong safety reputation, and the fact that it carries over without changes for 2024, which can be reassuring if you want a proven formula rather than a fresh redesign. The expert assessment also points to a well-rounded luxury SUV that has aged well overall, even if some of its underlying architecture is no longer cutting-edge.

The plug-in hybrid powertrain adds complexity, so a used example should be checked carefully for charging habits, battery-related usage, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that age-related wear and dated systems may become more noticeable than on newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC90?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Core, Plus, and Ultimate are the main trim levels to compare. Base versions miss some of the richer cabin touches seen higher up, while Ultimate brings the most upscale presentation with features like massaging front seats, a premium headliner, and a high-end audio system.
• Powertrain: The B6 uses a turbocharged and supercharged mild-hybrid four-cylinder engine, while the Recharge T8 adds an 18.8-kWh battery and a 107-kW electric motor for plug-in hybrid driving. The Recharge T8 is the most powerful and most efficient choice, with 53 kilometres of estimated electric-only range.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist pairs adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist, and the XC90 also includes large-animal detection and a notification system that alerts you when traffic ahead starts moving again. There is no hands-free driving assistance system, and Pilot Assist behaviour is a key thing to test carefully.
• Infotainment: You get a 9-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, Google Maps, Google Play, and Google Assistant, plus Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM. The system is more intuitive than earlier Volvo setups, though the screen is small by modern standards.
• Fuel efficiency: The Recharge T8 is rated at 8.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 9.6 L/100 km in evaluation.

Which 2024 Volvo XC90 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volvo XC90 is offered in 3 trim levels: Core, Plus, Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point if you want the XC90’s design, safety reputation, and standard AWD without stretching to the pricier trims. It makes sense if you care most about the core luxury-SUV experience and want to keep the purchase price in check.
• Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing all the way to the top. If you want a more complete luxury feel while still watching your budget, this is the trim to focus on.
• Ultimate: Choose this if you want the most upscale XC90 experience, especially the richer cabin presentation and available premium touches such as massaging front seats, the premium headliner, and the high-end audio system.

The safety package centres on Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo XC90?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 184 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,977 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volvo XC90's resale value?

The current average of $55,977 CAD sits slightly below last year's $65,440 CAD.

That price movement suggests the XC90 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. The model’s strong design appeal and premium positioning should still help it hold attention among shoppers looking for a refined three-row SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volvo XC90 safe?

The Volvo XC90 earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment except rollover resistance, where it earns a four-star rating typical of SUVs. In addition, the IIHS says the XC90 was a Top Safety Pick+ in 2023.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety tech includes Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist, plus large-animal detection and a notification system that alerts you when traffic ahead starts moving again. There is no hands-free driving assistance system, and Pilot Assist struggled with curves, passing lanes, rural lane markings, and one highway-exit situation that undermined confidence in the system.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over without changes and still offers a plug-in hybrid option.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $50,026 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $55,977 CAD average.
• It adds Google-based infotainment and updated mild-hybrid powertrains.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $70,475 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $55,977 CAD average.
• It brings updated styling, materials, features, and mechanical tweaks for better comfort and handling.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and the current XC90 formula, the 2024 is the sensible default. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the value play; if you want the newest and most updated version, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
