Used 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan for Sale near Saskatchewan

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Prices have softened 16.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 654 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Volkswagen’s best-selling model gets a value boost for 2024, and its appeal starts with stylish design and good handling. It feels more polished than many mainstream SUVs, and Volkswagen backs that premium look with value in areas that matter to most shoppers.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the driving experience is not especially impressive, the throttle can be irritating, and the seats are uncomfortable. Even so, advanced safety features are standard, which helps it fit buyers who want a refined-feeling compact SUV with everyday appeal.

With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tiguan’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward gasoline powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, and a package that Volkswagen positions around premium looks and everyday usefulness. The expert assessment also points to good handling and comfortable ride quality, which can matter over the long haul because a vehicle that feels composed is often easier to live with day to day.

Volkswagen also includes a four-year/80,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper limited warranty, plus 24/7 roadside assistance and a complimentary four-year subscription to VW Car-Net. That adds some ownership reassurance for used buyers, though you should still budget for the usual wear items and verify maintenance history carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Trendline comes with heated front seats and cloth seating surfaces, while higher trims add features such as a power tailgate, panoramic sunroof, real leather, front-seat ventilation, a heated steering wheel, driver’s seat memory, and heated outboard rear seats. The base trim also misses some of the more upscale touches that help the Tiguan feel premium.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In Canada, 4Motion all-wheel drive is standard, and fuel economy is rated at 10.6 L/100 km city, 8.0 highway, and 9.4 combined in non R-Line configurations, or 10.9 city, 8.1 highway, and 9.7 combined for the R-Line trims.
• Safety package: Forward collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection is standard, along with emergency calling, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and Emergency Assist are part of Travel Assist at the Comfortline trim, so lower trims miss some of the more advanced driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch centre touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit System on every trim. Wireless charging is included on all but the base trim, and only the R-Line trims get the fully configurable 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro screen.
• Fuel efficiency: NRCan rates the Tiguan at 9.4 L/100 km combined in non R-Line form and 9.7 combined for the R-Line trims. If fuel costs matter most, that is an important comparison point against hybrid rivals.

Which 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Comfortline R-Line, and Highline R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Tiguan’s standard turbocharged engine, 4Motion all-wheel drive, heated front seats, cloth upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard digital instrument display. It makes sense if you want the Tiguan’s core look and capability at the lowest price.
• Comfortline: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds eight-way power driver’s seat adjustability, leatherette upholstery, a power tailgate, wireless charging, and the Travel Assist safety suite with adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and Emergency Assist.
• Comfortline R-Line: This trim adds the R-Line treatment and a panoramic sunroof, while also bringing the R-Line fuel-economy figures. Choose it if you want a more upscale appearance and the sunroof, but you do not need the top trim’s extra luxury features.
• Highline R-Line: This is the most luxurious version, with real leather, front-seat ventilation, a heated steering wheel, driver’s seat memory, eight-way power front passenger adjustment, heated outboard rear seats, and the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro screen. It suits you if you want the most premium Tiguan experience.

Park Distance Control becomes standard at the Comfortline R-Line Black trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 654 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.66% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,501 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $29,538 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,444 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean future resale values depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. If you buy well now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to the earlier average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan safe?

The Volkswagen Tiguan earned a 2022 Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), which is that organization’s highest honour.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

In Canada, forward collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection is standard, as are emergency calling, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and Emergency Assist are part of Travel Assist at the Comfortline trim, so lower trims miss some of the more advanced driver-assistance features.

One caveat is that the Tiguan has not earned the same 2024 IIHS distinction as of this writing, so you should focus on the standard safety equipment and the trim you are considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Volkswagen’s best-selling model gets a value boost with 2024 upgrades.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,226 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $29,538 CAD average.
• It feels more upscale in appearance and more enjoyable to drive than many rivals.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $40,051 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $29,538 CAD average.
• It corrects the last generation’s user interface issues and feels more refined.

The bottom line: The 2024 Tiguan is the right pick if you want the updated value story, standard safety equipment, and a premium-leaning compact SUV feel. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better budget path; if you want the newer redesign and can spend more, the 2025 is the upgrade route.
