How much does the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

There are 441 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 4.89/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, roomy interior, and quality, and many also like its smooth handling and more premium feel. If you want a compact SUV that leans toward comfort, space, and everyday practicality, that combination fits well. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people feel good about living with over time, especially because it is seen as value-focused, roomy, and well put together. That said, the model’s reliability story still calls for a careful inspection, particularly if you want to reduce the risk of expensive surprises as a used buyer. For long-term ownership, you should pay close attention to service history and condition before committing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 441 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,403 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $19,403 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,711 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Tiguan easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The model’s broad appeal should still help support demand, especially among shoppers who want space and a more upscale feel in a compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Tiguan makes the most sense if you want a roomy, comfort-oriented compact SUV with strong owner approval and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a similar example offers a better deal, but the 2020 remains a sensible primary target when condition and price line up.
