Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos reliable?

For used buyers, that suggests lower ownership risk than you might expect from a vehicle with this much market activity, though you should still prioritise a clean service history and a careful inspection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 803 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,268 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos's resale value?

The current average of $25,268 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,408 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well now matters more than usual because your eventual return will depend heavily on how much depreciation has already been absorbed. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Taos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,141 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $25,268 CAD average.
• It adds more standard safety features and equipment.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market mix of buyer satisfaction and deal availability. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if you find one with the right equipment and condition.
