Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos a good car?

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos reliable?

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Taos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 809 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,434 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Taos's resale value?

The current average of $25,434 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,548 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying closer to the lower end of the range can help protect your position. Strong demand from satisfied owners can still support values over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Taos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,079 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $25,434 CAD average.
• It adds more standard safety features and equipment.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the better value-focused alternative.
