How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport cost?

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.0/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

It is aimed at you if you want a two-row midsize SUV with plenty of cargo space, standard advanced safety features, and a more modern feature set after its 2024 refresh. The trade-offs are clear, though: the back seat is cramped, performance is fairly pedestrian, and the ride quality is poor.

Cons: Cramped back seat; fairly pedestrian performance.

With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Atlas Cross Sport is positioned as a practical two-row SUV with standard all-wheel drive in Canada, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and a long warranty package. Its powertrain is described as an upgrade over the previous V6 setup, and the new engine is said to work well with the eight-speed automatic transmission.

Volkswagen also backs it with a four-year, 80,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is whether the cabin and ride compromises will matter enough to affect how satisfied you feel after the novelty wears off.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Comfortline starts with standard leatherette upholstery and 18-inch alloy wheels, while Highline adds leather seats and 20-inch wheels, and Execline brings quilted leather upholstery with a diamond pattern, 21-inch wheels, a head-up display, park assist, and a surround-view camera system. The base trim is the one most likely to feel light on luxury features compared with the higher trims.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard 4Motion all-wheel drive in Canada. It is stronger than the outgoing V6 on torque, but the engine note is not especially refined.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, Travel Assist, post-collision braking, VW's crash response system, and emergency assist. Execline adds park assist and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get a 12-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and six USB-C ports. The system is easy to use overall, but the haptic touch controls are less satisfying than physical buttons.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.2 L/100 km in the city, 9.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is offered in 3 trim levels: Comfortline, Highline, and Execline.

Here's the short version:

• Comfortline: This is the value-focused choice if you want the refreshed Cross Sport experience without stretching to the higher trims. You still get the standard safety suite, wireless smartphone integration, and the new turbocharged engine, so it covers the essentials well.
• Highline: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather seats, larger wheels, and the upgraded 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system while staying below the top trim. If you want a more premium feel without going all the way to Execline, this is the one to target.
• Execline: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped version, with quilted leather upholstery, a head-up display, park assist, and a surround-view camera system. It is the right pick if you value convenience and parking aids over keeping the price down.

All Cross Sport models include the standard driver-assistance suite, while Execline adds park assist and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some confidence if you are willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 188 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,077 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport's resale value?

The current average of $40,078 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,900 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you should expect more competition from similarly equipped used examples. If demand stays steady, well-kept trims with desirable equipment should hold up better than stripped-down versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport safe?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport earns a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with five stars in side-impact crash testing and four stars in frontal and rollover tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and Travel Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist for a higher level of assist in highway driving. Execline adds park assist and a surround-view camera system.

The IIHS had not released ratings for this model year at the time of publication, so there is no updated IIHS result to factor into your decision.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It gets a significant refresh with more standard features, a more powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date version of the Atlas Cross Sport, the 2024 model is the one to prioritise because it brings the refresh, the stronger standard engine, and a richer feature set. If your main goal is to spend less, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but you will be giving up some of the added standard equipment that makes this version more appealing.
