Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearLaval, QC

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 7.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 461 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the expert score is 7.83/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The Tacoma’s appeal is still rooted in its rugged midsize-truck identity, but this generation adds a ground-up redesign, a newer platform, and a turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain. It also brings standard advanced driver-assistance tech and a more modern cabin layout, even if the interior remains more functional than plush.

The main trade-offs are a noisy cabin and manual-adjust seats that can be troublesome. Even the top trim’s interior leans functional rather than luxurious, so you should buy it for capability and durability rather than refinement.

With 38.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of value to be found if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Toyota’s reputation for longevity is a major part of the Tacoma’s appeal, and the truck’s standard turbocharged four-cylinder setup is paired with a modern platform and updated steering hardware. The expert review also points to a truck that keeps its traditional toughness while adding newer technology and more capable driver-assistance systems.

The powertrain and chassis updates should help the Tacoma feel more current over the long haul, while the brand’s durability reputation remains a key draw for used buyers. For you, the main ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about living with a truck that still prioritises utility over comfort.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Standard 17-inch alloy wheels and a more rugged look set the tone, while TRD Off Road packages add 17-inch off-road alloys. The Premium packages add heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats, but the cabin still keeps a functional, truck-first feel.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder produces 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, with 4WD standard in Canada. The eight-speed automatic is the easier transmission to live with, while the six-speed manual has a high bite point that can be awkward in tight manoeuvres.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, including Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, emergency stop capability, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8 inches, while Premium packages get a 14-inch centre display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system is responsive and easy to read.
• Fuel efficiency: The automatic is estimated as low as 11.2 L/100 km combined, while the manual is expected to use 11.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off Road, Limited, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Tacoma formula with standard 4WD, the turbocharged 2.4-litre engine, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and the standard 8-inch screen. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned truck.
• SR5: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it keeps the essential Tacoma hardware while moving you into a more complete everyday package. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the trim to target.
• TRD Sport: Choose this if you want a more road-focused setup, including sport-tuned shocks and a more distinctive package identity. It suits you if you spend more time on pavement than on trails.
• TRD Off Road: This is the one to buy if off-road use matters most, since it gets monotube Bilstein shocks and 17-inch off-road alloys. It is the right pick if you want the Tacoma’s rugged character dialled up.
• Limited: This trim is aimed at shoppers who want more comfort and a more upscale feel, including the Premium-package-style cabin upgrades where equipped. It is the better fit if you want a more polished daily driver.
• Platinum: This is the top-end choice for buyers who want the most feature-rich Tacoma in the range, including the larger 14-inch display in Premium packages. It makes sense if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the range, so even the entry trims get a strong safety baseline.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on well-priced trucks.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 461 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,769 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $53,769 CAD sits slightly below last year's $58,155 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you buy now, because you may be entering the market after some of the initial redesign premium has eased. For a future seller, the key question is whether the Tacoma’s strong reputation and updated equipment help it hold demand better than the broader market trend suggests.

If the truck continues to appeal to buyers who want a rugged midsize pickup with modern tech, resale should remain supported. The current price drop also means there may be less room for further depreciation than there was when the redesign first launched.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The Tacoma still comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, emergency stop capability, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

That standard suite is a meaningful step forward for the Tacoma, especially because it brings more active lane-centring and intervention features into the truck’s safety package. The emergency stop system is a notable addition for 2024, and the enhanced adaptive cruise control gives you more flexibility on longer drives.

Official crash-test ratings were not yet available at the time of review, so there is no crash-test result to cite here. For used buyers, the main safety takeaway is that the Tacoma’s standard driver-assistance hardware is strong, but you should still verify that all systems are functioning properly on any specific truck you consider.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a new platform, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,070 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,769 CAD average.
• It has a long-earned reputation for reliability and a rugged personality.

The bottom line: Buy the 2024 if you want the redesigned Tacoma’s newer platform, stronger tech, and updated safety equipment. If your priority is saving money and you can live with older tech, the 2023 remains the value play.
