Generally — the 2024 RAM 2500 earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to strong overall satisfaction. Drivers most often praise its powerful performance, extensive features, and value for money. That fits the truck’s role as a heavy-duty pickup that can work hard while still serving as a more refined daily driver. Is the 2024 RAM 2500 reliable?

The user feedback points to a truck that many owners feel they can count on, with praise centred on its dependable performance and strong value. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about the truck’s core appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained and used responsibly.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 401 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $70,200 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $70,200 CAD sits slightly below last year's $81,272 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale expectations should be measured. If the market stays steady, a lower entry price can reduce the amount of value you need to recover later. Strong demand for heavy-duty trucks with a premium feel can also help support used values over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $68,701 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $70,200 CAD average.
• It offers strong capability with a comfortable, well-equipped cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $80,339 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $70,200 CAD average.
• It adds even more luxury and refinement to its heavy-duty capability.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around starting point if you want a strong mix of capability, comfort, and current-market value. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better secondary path; if you want the newest and most refined option, the 2025 is the upgrade to compare.
