The current average of $69,246 CAD sits slightly below last year's $80,180 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, mileage, and equipment to protect value. Strong demand from shoppers who want heavy-duty capability and a well-equipped cabin should still support interest in clean examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $66,534 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $69,246 CAD average.
• It offers rugged capability with a comfortable, well-equipped cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $78,848 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $69,246 CAD average.
• It adds more luxury and refinement to an already capable heavy-duty truck.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around starting point if you want a balance of price, satisfaction, and market choice. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer, more refined direction and can stretch your budget.
