The strongest comments focus on how capable and satisfying it is to own, which matters if you plan to keep a used heavy-duty truck for the long haul. That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you sell soon. If you plan to own the truck for several years, the current pricing gives you a lower entry point, which can improve your overall value picture. Strong owner satisfaction can also help support demand when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $67,980 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $69,969 CAD average.
• It offers strong capability and a comfortable, well-equipped cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $79,669 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $69,969 CAD average.
• It adds even more luxury and refinement while keeping serious capability.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price movement, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better secondary option. If you want the newer-feeling, more refined truck and can stretch your budget, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
