CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Nissan Frontier
Summary
With 94 currently listed for sale and an average price of $47,990 CAD, 34.0% of 2024 Nissan Frontier listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Nissan Frontier 4.8 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2024 Nissan Frontier stands out as a midsize pickup that blends rugged styling with everyday usability. By this point in the third generation, it had already been completely redesigned, and the truck’s blockier, more substantial look gives it a tougher presence than before. It is also described as more comfortable and better handling than its predecessor, which helps it appeal to buyers who want a truck that can work during the week and still feel composed on the road.
For 2024, the Frontier lineup expanded with a more refined SL trim for Crew Cab models, bringing a moonroof, upgraded exterior lighting, leather upholstery, Nissan’s Intelligent Around-View monitor, and a premium audio system. A retro-inspired Hardbody Edition appearance package was also introduced. The Frontier Pro-4X remains the most off-road-focused version, with Bilstein shocks, underbody skid plates, a locking rear differential, a surround-view camera, wireless device charging, and leatherette upholstery. Standard equipment across the range includes forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind. The Frontier lacks rear passenger space compared with some other midsize trucks, and some models do without a telescopic steering column. It is also not as fuel efficient as some rivals. Even so, the 2024 Nissan Frontier remains appealing because it combines strong capability, useful technology, and a more rugged personality than many buyers expect from a modern pickup.

The Frontier is the only small to mid-size truck with a true 6 cylinder engine. It comes in various models so you can find the options you want or need. The pricing is more than reasonable especially on the pre owned market.

This was my 2nd frontier and our 9 Nissan vehicle we have purchased. I believe it is the best bang for your buck truck on the market. All Nissan vehicles are very quiet inside hardly no road noise. The drive is strong and have enough power for me. I prefer a long bed in the frontier because I am a man whom doesn’t just drive a truck I need to be able haul stuff. Very happy with our purchase. You will be too!

The best midsize truck is a loaded pro 4x is a few grand more than stripped down competitors. Seats are very comfortable ride is decent led headlights heated seats blind spot and other features that would cost you thousands more from competitors. I like the non turbo normally aspirated 6 cylinder still has 310 hp and less stuff to break. It’s the truck for me

This truck is well equipped compared to the 2nd generation that I traded in. It is still a little bit behind when you compare it to the Tacoma or the Colorado. Good truck for the money though.

Is the 2024 Nissan Frontier a good car?
Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The Frontier stands out as a midsize pickup that blends rugged styling with everyday usability, and it is described as more comfortable and better handling than its predecessor. That makes it a fit if you want a truck that can work during the week and still feel composed on the road. With 36.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2024 Nissan Frontier reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Frontier is presented as a truck with staying power, and its straightforward character should appeal if you prefer a familiar, durable-feeling pickup over constant reinvention. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some versions trade practicality for compromises in rear-seat space and fuel efficiency.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Frontier?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right truck.
- Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 89 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.51% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $47,771 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Nissan Frontier's resale value?
The current average of $47,776 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,221 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well now so you have more room to preserve value. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.51% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $41,771 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $47,776 CAD average.
- It keeps a simple, value-focused character with useful standard features.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $54,582 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,776 CAD average.
- It adds more standard safety tech and a new 12.3-inch touchscreen.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want the current Frontier’s balance of ruggedness, comfort, and value. If price is your top priority, the 2023 is the smarter path; if you want newer tech and can spend more, the 2025 is the upgrade to consider.
