Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It stands out as a luxury crossover that blends strong everyday usability with a more polished ride than its predecessor. It also brings a highly functional voice-command system and strong safety credentials, which suit you if you want convenience and reassurance in a premium package.

The trade-offs are clear: desirable advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, and cargo space is limited, especially in the Coupe.

With 37.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent share of attractive options in the market.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLC’s conservative redesign and premium interior focus suggest a model built to satisfy buyers who value refinement over flash. Its strong safety results and polished everyday character also support confidence in day-to-day ownership.

The standard powertrain and mainstream luxury positioning should help keep ownership straightforward, though some of the features you may want cost extra.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GLC 300 gives you the core luxury crossover experience, but some desirable driver-assistance features are not standard, so you should check equipment carefully before you buy.
• Powertrain: In Canada, all versions use 4Matic all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission; the AMG version adds a 416-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a sportier transmission, but it rides firmer and shifts more abruptly.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, active parking assist, and Pre-Safe. Adaptive cruise control, active steering assist, active lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign assist cost extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.9-inch centre screen with the third-generation MBUX system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a highly usable voice-command system. Navigation, a 15-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system, a head-up display, augmented reality navigation, and additional USB-C ports are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLC 300 SUV and Coupe are rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined, while the AMG 43 SUV is rated at 11.2 L/100 km combined and the AMG 43 Coupe at 11.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC is offered in 2 trim levels: GLC 300 and AMG GLC 43.

Here's the short version:

• GLC 300: This is the better-value choice for most shoppers because it delivers the core luxury, comfort, and technology experience without the firmer ride and higher running costs of the AMG model.
• AMG GLC 43: Choose this if you want the stronger 416-horsepower engine, quicker-shifting transmission, and sportier handling, but be ready for a firmer ride and a less commuter-friendly character.

The standard safety package includes active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, active parking assist, and Pre-Safe. Several advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 217 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $52,078 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $52,649 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,405 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

Because the GLC has strong brand appeal and a premium image, well-kept examples should still attract interest. The current pricing trend, however, means you should expect a more measured resale path than in a rising market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), that institution’s highest honour.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features on the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and SUV include active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, and active parking assist, among other features.

Pre-Safe, the automaker’s pre-collision system, is also standard. If it detects that a crash is imminent, it will tighten seatbelts, close the windows and moonroof (if equipped), and re-position the front passenger’s seat to best protect the vehicle’s occupants from impact. The version on the 2024 GLC also emits a “pink noise” sound through the audio system to trigger a response in passengers’ ear canals and help shut out the loud noises that often accompany an accident.

Popular active and interventional safety features like adaptive cruise control, active steering assist, active lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign assist cost extra on the GLC 300 or the AMG GLC 43.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds AMG variants back to the range, broadening performance choice.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,371 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $52,649 CAD average.
• It offers a conservative redesign with a polished, upscale feel.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $66,106 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $52,649 CAD average.
• It adds a new plug-in hybrid variant and stronger practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and current-market availability, the 2024 is the smart default. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the easier value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer updates and can stretch your budget.
