Is the 2024 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Sportage earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a compact SUV with a lot of choice without feeling stripped down. In Canada, it offers a broad spread of trims and equipment, including standard heated front seats, available SynTex seating on most versions, and X-Line variants with added styling and off-road-oriented touches. It also gives you a wide mix of powertrains and efficiency choices, so you can shop for the setup that best fits your daily driving needs. With 34.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2024 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Sportage is part of the fifth generation and carried over without major changes, which can be reassuring if you want a proven setup rather than a first-year redesign. Its broad equipment list and mainstream mechanical layout should make it a sensible used buy for many shoppers. For long-term ownership, your main risk is less about novelty and more about choosing a well-maintained example with the right trim and equipment for your needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 703 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.59% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,051 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $29,077 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,888 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Sportage has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier to move later if you price it competitively. For a future seller, the current market points to steady demand rather than a sharp premium, so condition, mileage, and trim will matter a lot. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of preserving value when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,990 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $29,077 CAD average.
• It offers a stylish, easy-to-recommend all-around package.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2024 if you want the newer model year with a strong mix of equipment, choice, and current-market availability. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better value path, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
