Used 2024 Kia Sorento for Sale nearVictoria, BC

How much does the 2024 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 10.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 330 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento a good car?

The 2024 Kia Sorento earns an 8.7/10 from our experts.

The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It fits well if you want a value-focused family SUV that gives you a standard third row without stepping up to a larger, pricier three-row model. The 2024 refresh also brings a more upscale look, easier-to-use technology, and more advanced safety equipment.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, and the base engine is underwhelming. Top trims can also get expensive, which can erode the value advantage if you want a more loaded version.

With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still meaningful room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento reliable?

The 2024 Kia Sorento is presented as a solidly assembled family SUV with a strong value proposition and a broad feature set. Its updated safety and infotainment systems add to the sense that Kia has put real effort into making this generation easier to live with.

The gas-powered version’s base engine is described as overmatched by the Sorento’s weight, while the turbocharged setup is much more satisfying for everyday driving. The updated software and standard wireless smartphone integration also help the cabin feel more modern and less frustrating to use.

Kia’s active safety systems are extensive, and the expert review says they generally perform very well. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a trim that feels too underpowered or too expensive for the value you actually need.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, EX, X-Line, X-Line Limited, and X-Pro each bring different looks and equipment. The base models do not get all the fixings, while the X-Line Limited and X-Pro add the nicest interiors and more upscale display hardware.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-litre four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, and it is described as underwhelming. EX and higher models use a turbocharged 2.5-litre with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, which feels much stronger.
• Safety package: Kia’s suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Highway Driving Assist is available, and Highway Driving Assist 2 is reserved for the top two trims.
• Infotainment: All trims use a 12.3-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system can receive over-the-air updates. X-Line Limited and X-Pro get twin 12.3-inch displays.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo gas version is rated at 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined, while turbocharged versions are rated at 10.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, X-Line, X-Line Limited, and X-Pro.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but the base engine is the weakest part of the Sorento and the trim misses some of the richer equipment you’ll want in a family SUV.
• EX: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the stronger turbocharged engine without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims.
• X-Line: Choose this if you want the more rugged look and added capability, including navigation from this trim up.
• X-Line Limited: This is for you if you want a more premium cabin and the twin 12.3-inch display setup.
• X-Pro: Pick this if you want the most capability, with all-terrain tyres, improved cooling, higher towing capacity, and the most adventurous hardware in the lineup.

The top two trims also add Highway Driving Assist 2, which includes automated lane changes.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 330 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,615 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $37,615 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,161 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has softened enough to improve used-buying appeal today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect a more competitive resale environment unless demand strengthens or supply tightens.

Because the current average is still within the year-round range, the model remains reasonably liquid in the used market. If you buy well now, you may be able to limit depreciation pressure later.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2024 Kia Sorento has earned “Good” ratings in IIHS’s small overlap, original moderate overlap front, and original side tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s standard driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Navigation-based adaptive cruise control is available, Highway Driving Assist is available, and Highway Driving Assist 2 with automated lane changes is standard on the top two trims.

The main caveat is that IIHS has not yet fully evaluated the 2024 Sorento, and its LATCH system earns only an “Acceptable” rating because the lower anchors are too deep in the seat.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.
• The 2024 refresh gives you a more upscale look, easier-to-use tech, and more safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $41,397 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,615 CAD average.
• It is largely unchanged, with a right-sized feel and broader powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and can live with a similar package, the 2025 is the secondary path.
