Used 2024 Kia Sorento for Sale nearPeterborough, ON

How much does the 2024 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 11.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 342 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento a good car?

The 2024 Kia Sorento earns an 8.67/10 expert rating, and it is positioned as a value-focused family SUV that sits between compact crossovers and larger three-row midsize SUVs.

The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It brings a standard third row, more room than compact crossovers, a refreshed look, and updated infotainment and safety systems. The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, and the base engine is underwhelming. Top trims can also get pricey, which can narrow the value advantage if you want more equipment.

With 32.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento reliable?

The 2024 Kia Sorento is presented as a solidly assembled family SUV with a strong emphasis on standard safety equipment and updated technology. Its gas-powered lineup is straightforward, with a base engine and a more robust turbocharged upgrade, and the overall package is aimed at practical family use rather than complexity.

The performance notes point to a base engine that feels overmatched by the Sorento’s size, while the turbocharged version is described as lively and better suited to the vehicle. The updated infotainment system is also meant to be easier to use and more future-proof, which helps reduce day-to-day frustration.

Kia’s safety systems are described as generally performing very well, and the vehicle includes a broad set of standard driver-assistance features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the lower-output base version may feel strained if you regularly carry passengers or cargo.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the most basic version, while the EX adds the stronger turbocharged engine. The X-Line and X-Pro bring a more rugged look, with the X-Pro adding smaller wheels, all-terrain tyres, and extra capability. The X-Line Limited and X-Pro also get twin 12.3-inch displays, and the X-Pro adds a rear-view camera mirror. The best-value trim is the EX, since it adds the more satisfying powertrain without jumping to the highest price tiers.
• Powertrain: The LX uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. EX and higher trims use a turbocharged 2.5-litre with 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic. All Canadian Sorentos are AWD.
• Safety package: Kia’s standard suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Highway Driving Assist is available, and Highway Driving Assist 2 with automated lane changes is reserved for the top two trims.
• Infotainment: All trims use a 12.3-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. Navigation is standard from the X-Line trim up, and X-Line Limited and X-Pro get a second 12.3-inch digital display.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo gas version is rated at 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined, while turbocharged versions are rated at 10.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Sorento is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, X-Line, X-Line Limited, and X-Pro.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is also the least compelling choice if you want the Sorento to feel properly motivated. It gives you the standard third row and the full-size family-SUV packaging, but the base engine is the weakest part of the lineup.
• EX: This is the trim most shoppers should start with. It adds the turbocharged engine, which makes the Sorento feel much more responsive, while still staying below the pricier upper trims.
• X-Line: Choose this if you want the more rugged appearance and the added capability that comes with the X-Line treatment. It also brings navigation, making it a stronger tech pick than the lower trims.
• X-Line Limited: This is for you if you want the more upscale cabin and the twin 12.3-inch displays. It adds more of the premium feel without going all the way to the top.
• X-Pro: This is the most capable and most expensive gas Sorento, with all-terrain tyres, improved cooling, a higher tow rating, and the most rugged hardware in the lineup. It makes sense if you want the added capability and can justify the price.

Kia’s safety package is broad across the lineup, but Highway Driving Assist 2 is limited to the top two trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re comparing multiple listings.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 342 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,665 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $37,670 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,332 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you own one, the current market points to softer resale conditions than a year ago. For future sellers, higher-trim examples may still hold appeal, but the broader trend favours buyers more than owners right now.

Is the 2024 Kia Sorento safe?

The 2024 Kia Sorento has earned “Good” ratings in IIHS’s small overlap, original moderate overlap front, and original side tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s standard driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Navigation-based adaptive cruise control and Highway Driving Assist are available, while Highway Driving Assist 2 with automated lane changes is limited to the top two trims.

One caveat is that IIHS has not yet fully evaluated the 2024 Sorento, and its LATCH system earns only an “Acceptable” rating because the lower anchors are too deep in the seat.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.01% compared with last year.
• The 2024 brings a refresh, easier-to-use tech, and more safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $41,473 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,670 CAD average.
• It is a right-sized SUV with gasoline, turbocharged gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the stronger buy because it combines the refresh with a lower average price. If you are price-sensitive, the 2024 also gives you more room to find a deal, while the 2025 makes sense if you want to pay more for the next model year.
