Is the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L earns a 5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a three-row midsize SUV with genuine off-road ability, a more upscale cabin than many rivals, and strong towing capability. It is especially well suited if you want a family hauler that can carry six adults, or seven with the available second-row bench, without giving up Jeep’s trail-focused character. Is the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Grand Cherokee L’s appeal comes from its mix of space, refinement, towing strength, and off-road hardware, which can make it a satisfying vehicle to live with if those strengths match your needs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its premium positioning and available V8 can make running costs less forgiving than a simpler family SUV.

What is the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

The current average of $42,100 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,578 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the Grand Cherokee L’s broad appeal as a spacious, upscale three-row SUV should help keep interest steady. Its strong feature set and distinctive Jeep character can support demand, especially among shoppers who want capability and comfort in one package.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $40,687 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $42,100 CAD average.
• It offers a more comfort-focused take on the Grand Cherokee L.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market value story and a broad pool of listings to compare. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better path, especially if you find one with the equipment and condition you want.
