Is the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee stands out because it blends Jeep’s long-running off-road identity with a more premium, SUV-first character, while still offering a wide spread of configurations from basic trims to much more luxurious ones. In Canada, four-wheel drive is standard, and you also get multiple 4WD systems, including Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II with a low range, and Quadra-Drive with an electronic locking rear limited-slip differential and a height-adjustable air suspension for maximum ground clearance. 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is presented as a well-rounded SUV with a broad trim range, standard four-wheel drive in Canada, and a proven eight-speed automatic transmission. Its standard 3.6-litre V6 and available 4xe plug-in hybrid give you a wide spread of capability and equipment choices, while the cabin can be genuinely upscale on higher trims. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you choose a well-maintained example that matches your needs, since the model range spans everything from basic to highly complex, expensive versions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 538 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,505 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $42,505 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,278 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model more attractive to used buyers now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the 2024 Grand Cherokee offers a broad mix of capability, premium features, and trim choices, well-equipped examples should remain appealing to shoppers who want a more upscale SUV with real off-road hardware. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version in this price window and value the 2024 Grand Cherokee’s mix of standard four-wheel drive, premium-leaning features, and broad trim range, it makes sense to focus on this year first. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 is the better starting point when you want a balance of capability, equipment, and current market softness.
