Used 2024 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearSurrey, BC

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 11.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 944 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is a mixed but appealing compact sedan if you value style, variety, and a well-rounded driving experience over a premium cabin. It earns 3/5 from users and 7.3/10 from our experts.

The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a sporty-looking, versatile sedan with multiple powertrain options and a manual transmission available. For 2024, a mild refresh adds more style and standard equipment, which strengthens its appeal if you want a small car that feels more distinctive than merely practical.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarising, the base engine is underwhelming, and the interior materials can feel cheap. If you want character and choice in a compact sedan, it fits well; if you want a more conventional look or a more upscale cabin, you may want to keep shopping.

With 33.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of value in the market.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is presented as a properly sorted compact sedan that has moved beyond Hyundai’s old bargain-only reputation. Its expert assessment describes it as a well-constructed car that competes on how it drives and feels, not just on price and equipment.

The base powertrain is adequate for around-town driving, and the model’s broader lineup gives you options if you want more performance or efficiency. The expert review also notes a five-year/100,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty, which is a useful ownership cushion for used buyers still within coverage.

For long-term used ownership, the main risk is that the cheapest versions may feel less satisfying on the highway and less polished inside than you might expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential trim is the most basic version, while the Preferred adds more safety equipment and the Luxury brings a more upscale feature set. The base trim is the one most likely to feel sparse, especially if you want more than the essentials.
• Powertrain: The common 2.0-litre inline-four makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque with a CVT. It is fine in town, but it feels weak and loud on the highway. If you want more personality, the N Line’s 1.6-litre turbo-four with 201 hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is the livelier choice.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward braking assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. From the Preferred grade, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist are added. Luxury trims up to N Line include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and highway driving assist.
• Infotainment: The Essential and Preferred trims use an 8-inch touchscreen, while Luxury and above get a 10.25-inch screen. The smaller system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the larger one does not. A digital instrument panel is standard from Luxury up.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 7.7 L/100 km city, 5.9 highway, and 6.9 combined. The N Line Ultimate is rated at 8.3/6.8/7.6, while the hybrid is rated at 4.8 city, 4.5 highway, and 4.7 combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 5 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, N Line Ultimate, and N.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the Elantra, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped back compared with the others.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds important safety upgrades such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
• Luxury: This is the trim to target if you want the more complete everyday package, with the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrument panel, Bose audio, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist.
• N Line Ultimate: Choose this if you want the sportier personality. It adds the 1.6-litre turbo engine and a more engaging driving experience, though the gearbox can be clunky from a stop.
• N: This is the performance-focused choice for buyers who want the most power and the most aggressive character, but it is the least comfort-oriented option.

From a safety-package standpoint, the Preferred is the key step up because it adds blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $22,546 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,351 CAD.

That drop suggests the Elantra has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand from value-focused shoppers. For a future seller, it also means you should expect a softer resale environment than last year’s market. If you buy well now, you may be able to limit depreciation pain, but you should still plan for a modestly lower return than the prior year’s average.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2024 Elantra received a five star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) (four stars for the front passenger, five for the driver, and five for front and rear passengers in two side tests). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named the 2024 Elantra a Top Safety Pick, but a careful look shows the group did not perform all of its standard crash tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features on the 2024 Hyundai Elantra in Canada include forward braking assist, lane keep assist and lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor.

There are no frontal knee airbags, and the expert review notes that rear passengers had a higher risk of injury in the new frontal crash test despite Hyundai adding two rear side airbags for 2024.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.07% compared with last year.
• The 2024 refresh adds more style and standard equipment.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,893 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,546 CAD average.
• It offers a wide spread of choices, from basic transportation to performance-oriented driving.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the fresher look and added equipment, especially with a decent share of good deals in the market. If your priority is saving money first, the 2023 is the better value play and still gives you the Elantra’s broad range of strengths.
