Used 2024 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearKingston, ON

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 11.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 936 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of choice if you’re comparing trims and equipment.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

It’s a mixed but appealing package if you want a compact sedan with personality, variety, and value. The user rating is 3/5, and our experts rate it 7.33/10.

The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2024 Elantra stands out as a compact sedan that blends style, versatility, and a broader range of trim choices than Hyundai’s earlier small-car efforts. For 2024, a mild refresh adds more style and standard equipment, reinforcing its appeal for buyers who want a small sedan that feels more distinctive than merely practical.

Trade-offs: The design may be polarising, the base engine is underwhelming, and the interior materials can feel cheap. The base engine is adequate around town but weak and loud on the highway, while the cabin’s hard plastics keep it from feeling especially upscale.

With 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a fair amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

The 2024 Elantra is positioned as a well-mannered, value-focused compact sedan, and Hyundai backs it with a five-year/100,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty. The expert assessment also describes it as properly sorted and competitive on substance, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

Its performance notes point to a broad range of powertrains, including efficient mainstream versions and more engaging turbocharged variants. The hybrid setup is especially efficient, and the standard non-hybrid engine is described as adequate for low-speed driving.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the cheapest versions may feel less satisfying over time if you regularly drive on highways or want a more refined cabin.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential, Preferred, and Luxury trims lose the sportier bumpers that help the car look more distinctive, while the base cabin is especially plain. If you want the most polished feel, the higher trims add more visual and equipment appeal.
• Powertrain: The common 2.0-litre inline-four with CVT is fine around town but weak and loud on the highway. The 1.6-litre turbo in the N Line is much livelier, while the Elantra N is the most powerful and most aggressive option.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward braking assist, lane keep assist and lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. From the Preferred grade, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist are added. Luxury trims up to N Line include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and highway driving assist.
• Infotainment: The Essential and Preferred trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while Luxury and above get a 10.25-inch screen. The smaller system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the larger one does not. A digital instrument panel is standard from Luxury up.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 4.8 L/100 km city, 4.5 highway, and 4.7 combined. Non-hybrid trims are rated at 7.7 city, 5.9 highway, and 6.9 combined for the base engine, and 8.3 city, 6.8 highway, and 7.6 combined for the N Line Ultimate.

Which 2024 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 5 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, N Line Ultimate, and N.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it’s best if you’re focused on keeping costs down and can live with the simplest equipment and least distinctive look.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds important safety equipment like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist.
• Luxury: This is the sweet spot if you want the most rounded everyday experience, with the larger touchscreen, digital instrument panel, Bose audio, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist.
• N Line Ultimate: Choose this if you want the strongest mix of style and performance without going all the way to the full N. It adds the turbocharged engine and a more engaging chassis balance.
• N: Pick this only if you want the most extreme performance character. It’s the enthusiast choice, not the comfort-first one.

The safety package expands meaningfully from Preferred upward, so that trim is the key step up if driver-assistance features matter to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 936 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,547 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $22,547 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,408 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Elantra has become more attractive to used buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one, the current market is still supportive, but not especially strong for maximising resale. Well-equipped trims and cleaner-condition examples should hold up better than bare-bones versions.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2024 Elantra received a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features on the 2024 Hyundai Elantra in Canada include a simple forward braking assist system, lane keep assist and lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. From the Preferred grade, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist are added. Luxury trims up to N Line include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection as well as junction turning assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and highway driving assist.

There are some caveats to keep in mind: IIHS noted that not all standard crash tests were performed, and its newer frontal crash test showed worse results than the 2021 Elantra. Rear passengers had a higher risk of injury despite added rear side airbags, and there are no frontal knee airbags.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.26% compared with last year.
• The mild refresh adds more style and standard equipment.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,908 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,547 CAD average.
• It offers a wide spread of choices in one compact sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version with stronger standard equipment and a better current-market value story, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the smarter budget alternative.
