Is the 2024 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2024 GMC Terrain earns a 5/5 user rating, and its appeal comes from a more premium, more angular design than many rivals, along with a manageable footprint for everyday use. It also brings practical equipment and a broad feature set, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus safety technology such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. If you want a compact SUV that feels a bit more upscale than its mainstream positioning suggests, this model year fits that brief well. The market also shows 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Terrain’s reliability case is supported by its practical, familiar setup and its emphasis on everyday usability rather than complexity. Its standard equipment and safety technology are straightforward, and the model’s overall character suggests a used-buying experience that should be easy to live with if you maintain it properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been cared for consistently, especially if you plan to keep it for many years.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 730 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.28% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,194 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $30,194 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,816 CAD.

That price movement suggests the 2024 Terrain is currently in a softer market, which can be a mixed signal for future resale. If you buy at today’s average or below, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s pricing. For a future seller, the key will be how well the vehicle holds buyer interest relative to similarly priced compact SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 Terrain makes the most sense if you want a compact SUV with a more premium feel, useful standard technology, and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is getting the best possible value, the 2024 is the primary path to consider; if you are especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on listings at the lower end of the range and compare them closely against nearby model years.
