Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows why: you get serious heavy-duty capability, a wide range of cab, bed, axle, and trim combinations, and a more polished, upscale character than many trucks in this class. It is especially appealing if you want a work-focused truck that can also be configured with more refined features and modern towing tech. Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a truck built around proven heavy-duty capability, with a broad configuration range and a clear focus on towing and hauling. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s core mission and more about choosing the right configuration and condition, since higher-spec versions can be expensive and the truck’s size can make everyday use more demanding.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 203 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $80,835 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $81,889 CAD sits slightly below last year's $85,151 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a mixed signal for future resale: it may help you buy at a more favourable point now, but it also means you should expect some pressure on value if the market stays soft. For a future seller, the upside is that this truck still has strong appeal thanks to its heavy-duty capability and upscale positioning. Well-equipped examples with desirable towing and comfort features should remain easier to market than bare-bones trucks.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of capability, updated tech, and a more polished feel, the 2024 is the better all-around choice. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2024 stands out when you want a heavy-duty truck that feels more refined without losing its core towing and hauling strength.
