Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD. It stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious work capability with a more polished, upscale character than many trucks in its class, and it gives you a wide range of cab, bed, axle, and trim combinations to match different needs. If you want a truck that can serve as a straightforward jobsite tool or a more refined daily driver, this model year gives you that flexibility. The market also shows 31.2% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD’s appeal comes from its heavy-duty strength, broad equipment range, and increasingly sophisticated towing and comfort features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s core mission and more about choosing the right configuration and trim for your budget, since the most capable and most luxurious versions can be expensive to buy and own.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 205 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $80,866 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $82,363 CAD sits slightly below last year's $84,209 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you buy now, because you may be entering at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, the current trend suggests there is some room for depreciation pressure if the market stays soft. Even so, a truck with this level of capability and a broad trim range should continue to attract buyers who need serious towing and hauling strength.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better pick if you want the updated styling, the larger infotainment screen and digital instrument panel on SLE and above, and the added trailering tech that makes this year feel more modern. If your priority is simply finding the lowest entry price, a nearby older year may be worth a look, but the 2024 is the stronger all-around choice if you value the refreshed features and premium feel.
