Used 2024 Ford Ranger for Sale near Okotoks, AB

How much does the 2024 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 13.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 135 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare prices and equipment before you buy.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Ranger earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

You get an all-new midsize truck with more power, more technology, more refinement, more space, and more choice than before, which broadens its appeal if you want a versatile pickup that can handle daily driving and truck duties. The Ranger’s great handling and quiet cabin make it easier to live with than many body-on-frame rivals.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, and the touchscreen response is sluggish. Advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to move up the trim ladder if you want more driver assistance.

With 24.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Ranger is presented as a more complete and competitive midsize truck than the version it replaces, with stronger capability and a broader spread of powertrain choices. Its standard 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder is described as swift and smooth, while the optional 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 adds more towing-focused muscle. The truck also benefits from quiet, comfortable road manners, which usually helps day-to-day durability feel less tiring over time.

On the cost side, the Ranger’s competitive capability is balanced by a cabin that feels less polished than its price suggests. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about living with the interior and tech than about the truck’s core usefulness.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLT adds a more complete equipment mix than the base XL, including the driver-assistance features that the XL lacks. If you want a better-equipped truck without jumping straight to the top end, the XLT is the most sensible value play.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.3-litre turbo inline-four, a 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6, and a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 in the Raptor. The base engine is described as sufficient and smooth, while the V6 is the better pick if you plan to tow regularly.
• Safety package: The XLT and above trims get standard forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.
• Infotainment: The XL and XLT use a 10-inch portrait touchscreen in Canada, while all other trims get a 12-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but the menus are slow to load, and BlueCruise handsfree driving assist is not available.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder is rated at 11.9 L/100 km in the city, 9.8 on the highway, and 11.0 combined. The V6 is rated at 12.6 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway, and 11.5 combined.

Which 2024 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Ranger is offered in 4 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point, but it misses the driver-assistance features that come standard on higher trims. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable keeping things basic.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim because it adds the standard safety equipment that the XL lacks and still keeps the truck relatively accessible. If you want the smartest balance of price and equipment, start here.
• Lariat: This trim brings a more upscale feel with the wider 12.4-inch instrument panel, push-button start, automatic parking, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo. It suits you if you want more tech and convenience.
• Raptor: This is the performance-focused choice, with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, 2.5-inch Fox shocks, 27-centimetre ground clearance, and front and rear locking differentials. It is the one to buy if off-road capability is your priority.

The safety-package trim note is simple: the XL has no driver assists, while the XLT and above bring the key standard safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 24.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 135 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,572 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $47,575 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,766 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive used market if supply stays healthy. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the peak. The Ranger’s broader trim and powertrain spread should help it stay relevant with shoppers who want capability and choice.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger safe?

The 2024 Ranger has not been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and previous model years tested by NHTSA and IIHS are not comparable.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The base XL trim does not come with any driver assists, but the XLT and above trims have standard forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, so you need to shop carefully if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 24.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model brings more power, more technology, more refinement, more space, and more choice than before.

The bottom line: If you want the most complete Ranger in this generation, the 2024 is the one to target because it adds meaningful breadth in powertrain choice and equipment. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2024’s broader capability and improved packaging make it the better all-around pick for most used buyers.
