How much does the 2024 Ford Explorer cost?

There are 407 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Explorer a good car?

With a 3/5 user rating, the 2024 Ford Explorer looks like a mixed but worthwhile option if you value its strengths more than its compromises. It stands out as a midsize SUV that has moved toward a more premium, road-focused feel, with better handling than earlier Explorers and a chassis that suits everyday driving well. It is also practical, with seating for up to seven, available six-passenger seating, and standard smartphone integration and driver-assistance features on the XLT.

That said, some desirable features are reserved for higher trims or option packages, and the cabin still does not feel as premium as its price suggests. Even so, the fact that 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford Explorer reliable?

The 2024 Ford Explorer is presented as a well-rounded midsize SUV with a broad powertrain and trim mix, plus standard equipment that supports everyday use. Its rear-wheel-drive bias, available all-wheel drive, and practical family-friendly layout point to a vehicle designed for broad usability rather than a narrow specialty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-trim features and option content can make the buying decision more complex, so you will want to inspect the exact equipment and condition carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Explorer?

This looks like a selective buyer’s market, especially if you are willing to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 407 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $43,466 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Explorer's resale value?

The current average of $43,488 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,455 CAD.

For a future seller, that points to a softer market than a year ago, which can make resale timing more important. If you buy well now, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The strongest resale outcome will likely come from a well-equipped, well-kept example with desirable features and clean history.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Explorer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.10% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $52,582 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $43,488 CAD average.
• It adds updated infotainment, improved interior quality, and bolder styling.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better value if you want a lower entry price and are comfortable shopping the used market carefully. If you want the newer-feeling cabin and updated technology, the 2025 is the stronger pick, but you will pay more for it.
