Used 2024 Ford Escape for Sale near Niagara Falls, ON

How much does the 2024 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 14.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 697 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape a good car?

Yes — your 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 6.17/10. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

The 2024 Ford Escape is best understood as a comfort- and technology-focused compact crossover. Its appeal comes from multiple powertrain choices, a comfortable ride, and impressive technology, while the overall package is held back by cheap-feeling interior materials, uncompetitive cargo space, and poor value for money.

The main trade-offs are the cabin quality and practicality, especially if you want a more polished interior or stronger everyday utility. Even so, the Escape still makes sense if you prioritise a relaxed drive and a well-equipped tech experience over outright value.

With 38.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Ford Escape is presented as a familiar, carryover model after a substantial makeover in 2023, which can be reassuring if you want a known quantity rather than a redesign. Its available powertrains and standard safety equipment also suggest a well-developed package rather than a rushed one.

The performance side points to a broad lineup, including a hybrid and turbocharged gas engines, with the AWD system using a driveline disconnect feature to help improve fuel economy. Ford also notes that the hybrid can save you more money over time, and the model’s standard maintenance coverage can be a useful ownership perk when equipped that way.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Escape’s value proposition is already weak, so depreciation and repair costs could matter more than usual if you buy too high.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Escape?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The trim lineup ranges from Active to ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid. The base trim appears to have been dropped, and the lower trims use a smaller 8-inch display, while upper trims get a 12.3-inch display and more upscale equipment. If you want the most polished cabin presentation, look closely at the higher trims, but be aware that the interior still draws criticism for glossy surfaces and stiff upholstery.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque, a 192-horsepower hybrid, or a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The 1.5-litre setup is the more sensible gas-engine choice, while the 2.0-litre turbo is quick but not especially well matched to the Escape’s character.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and post-collision automatic braking. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use an 8-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, and FordPass Connect services. Upper trims get a 12.3-inch digital display and a 13.2-inch Sync 4 infotainment system, plus connected navigation on some versions. The larger system is well organised, though the screen styling and climate-control integration are not ideal.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated as low as 6.0 L/100 km in combined driving. The turbocharged 2.0-litre AWD model is rated at 8.4 L/100 km combined, while the FWD version is rated at 8.0 L/100 km combined. In testing, the turbocharged ST-Line Elite averaged 9.8 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Escape is offered in 6 trim levels: Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Active: This is the most straightforward choice if you want the Escape’s core comfort and technology without paying for the pricier turbocharged or heavily optioned versions. It also avoids the more expensive upper-trim content that pushes the Escape into poor-value territory.
• ST-Line: This is the best-value trim if you want the hybrid powertrain, because it unlocks the efficiency-focused setup while keeping the Escape’s useful tech and safety equipment. It is the trim to target if lower running costs matter most.
• ST-Line Select: This trim adds the AWD-equipped 2.0-litre turbo setup and moves you into a more expensive part of the range. It suits you only if you specifically want the stronger engine and are comfortable paying for it.
• Platinum: This trim leans into a more upscale presentation, but the broader review suggests the Escape’s interior quality still falls short of the price. It makes sense only if you value the added equipment and appearance over value.
• ST-Line Elite: This is the loaded version, with the larger display, premium tech, and available luxury-style extras. It is the least compelling value choice because the content and pricing push it well beyond what the Escape delivers in cabin quality and practicality.
• Plug-in Hybrid: This is the right pick if you want electric-only commuting capability and lots of standard equipment, but it is still a niche choice because it comes only with FWD.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard across the range, while higher trims add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Escape?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 697 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,330 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $28,330 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,193 CAD.

That drop suggests the Escape is already moving through a softer pricing cycle, which can work against future sellers if the market stays cautious. If you buy now, you may be starting from a lower resale baseline than owners did a year ago. On the other hand, a lower entry price can help reduce the amount of value left to lose over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape safe?

The 2024 Ford Escape earns five-star ratings across the board, aside from a four-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA. It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and post-collision automatic braking. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping systems showed inconsistent behaviour in testing, and predictive speed assist could be overly aggressive. The IIHS had not rated the 2024 model at the time of the data, though the previous model year earned Good ratings except for a Marginal result in a side-impact test.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford carries over the 2023 makeover, so you get the updated design and tech without waiting for a redesign.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,595 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,330 CAD average.
• It still offers an upscale look and a tech-forward approach.

The bottom line: If you want the updated Escape with current-market pricing and a decent supply of listings, the 2024 is the cleaner choice. If your priority is saving money and you can live with the older model year, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly route.
