Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 3.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 320 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Generally — with a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, this truck lands as a strong choice for shoppers who want heavy-duty capability with modern convenience. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its strong performance, ride quality, styling, and the range of options available. The user feedback also points to a truck that feels well equipped for buyers who want capability without giving up too much comfort or visual appeal.

The trade-offs are that some owners feel it is overpriced, and there is a recurring wish for more advanced features and technology. That lines up with the overview: you are looking at a heavy-duty pickup aimed at buyers who value serious capability, wireless smartphone integration, and a tougher, more adventurous character.

Only 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than especially bargain-heavy.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels strong, dependable, and worth counting on, especially if you value performance and a broad range of configurations. The expert notes also support that impression by describing the Silverado 2500HD as a tough truck with strong on-road manners and upgraded technology.

Chevrolet backs it with a 3-year/60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a 5-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is less about basic durability and more about whether the truck’s equipment level and maintenance history match the price you are paying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Work Truck is plain but still handsome, while the Custom adds a body-coloured grille bar, the LT swaps in a chrome bar, and the LTZ and High Country add a more upscale chrome-heavy look with C-shaped headlamps. The ZR2 stands apart with a blacked-out grille and Chevrolet “flow tie” badging. If you want the best-value trim, the LT is the one to focus on because it brings the standard tech upgrade without jumping all the way to the luxury end.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.6-litre V8 gas engine with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, or an available 6.6-litre Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. Both use an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The diesel is described as remarkably quiet and well matched to the transmission.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the High Country, so you should check whether a used example has it if that matters to you.
• Infotainment: Starting on the LT, you get a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch configurable gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and Google built-in adds Google Maps, the Play store, and Google Assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: In testing, the truck returned 11.6 litres per 100 kilometres in 2WD over about 150 kilometres, and 13.8 L/100 km over a 400-kilometre mix of 2WD and Auto 4WD.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is offered in 6 trim levels: Work Truck (or WT), Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (or WT): This is the most basic version, but it still gives you the core heavy-duty Silverado experience. It suits you if you want the lowest entry point and do not need the upscale cabin touches or extra tech.
• Custom: This trim adds a body-coloured grille bar and a bit more visual polish. It makes sense if you want a step up in appearance without moving too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it starts the standard 13.4-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. If you want the modern tech upgrade without paying luxury-trim money, this is the one to target.
• LTZ: This trim brings a more premium look with more chrome and C-shaped headlamps. It is a good fit if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it.
• High Country: This is the most luxurious mainstream trim, with open-pore wood, leather trim, metal accents, and more refined interior detailing. It suits you if comfort and presentation matter as much as capability.
• ZR2: This is the off-road-specific trim, and the expert review highlights its serious trail hardware, including Multimatic DSSV spool valve shocks, a lift, large tyres, skid plating, and steel bumpers. If off-road ability is your priority, this is the clear choice.

Standard tow hooks are included across the line, and adaptive cruise control remains optional even on the High Country.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and be ready to move when you find the right truck.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 320 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $68,200 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $68,200 CAD sits slightly below last year's $70,928 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has become a bit easier to buy than it was a year ago, which can help future resale if you purchase at the right number. For a seller, the current trend means you may not see the same pricing strength that existed last year, so condition, trim, and equipment will matter even more when it is time to list.

The fact that prices have eased also means buyers are more selective, which can put pressure on resale values for trucks that are missing desirable equipment or have higher mileage. Well-kept examples with the right trim and features should still hold attention better than stripped or poorly optioned ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. GM’s Safety Seat is also highlighted as a useful alert system, and the truck includes Buckle to Drive and Teen Driver technology in the settings menu.

The main caveat is that not all advanced safety features are standard, and adaptive cruise control is optional across the range. If safety tech matters to you, check carefully for the exact equipment on any used example you are considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• This year adds better styling and a new off-road trim, helping it move closer to its main rivals.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of updated styling, modern tech, and serious heavy-duty capability, the 2024 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2024’s refreshed equipment and softer pricing make it the cleaner buy for most shoppers.
