Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearKelowna, BC

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 6.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 302 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4.33/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, which points to a truck that lands well with both owners and testers. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its strong performance, ride quality, and appearance, and they also like the range of options available. The main trade-off is that some shoppers feel it is overpriced and want more advanced features and technology.

That fits the truck’s use case well: you’re getting a heavy-duty pickup that aims to be more than just a work truck, with broader appeal thanks to its styling, tech, and off-road capability. The market also shows 33.1% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels strong, dependable, and capable of handling demanding use without losing its appeal as a daily driver. The expert evaluation also highlights the Silverado 2500HD’s quiet, well-matched diesel powertrain and smooth shifting, which supports the impression of a truck you can count on.

Chevrolet also backs it with a 3-year/60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a 5-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, with some diesel-equipped trucks getting extended powertrain coverage to 160,000 kilometres. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage heavy-duty trucks can be expensive to keep in top shape, especially if they’ve been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Work Truck is plain but still handsome, while the Custom adds a body-coloured grille bar, the LT swaps in a chrome bar, and the LTZ and High Country add a more upscale chrome-heavy look with C-shaped headlamps. The ZR2 stands apart with a blacked-out grille and Chevrolet “flow tie” badging. Base-trim buyers should pay attention to the simpler appearance and equipment set.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.6-litre V8 with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, or an available 6.6-litre Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft. Both use an Allison 10-speed automatic, and the diesel is described as quiet, smooth, and well matched to the transmission.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the High Country, so you should check whether a used example has it fitted.
• Infotainment: Starting on the LT trim, you get a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch configurable gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and Google built-in adds Google Maps, the Play store, and Google Assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: In testing, the truck returned 11.6 litres per 100 kilometres in 2WD over about 150 kilometres, and 13.8 L/100 km over 400 kilometres with a mix of 2WD and Auto 4WD.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is offered in 6 trim levels: Work Truck (or WT), Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (or WT): This is the most basic choice, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and plan to use the truck mainly for work. It’s plain but still handsome, and it gets the core heavy-duty capability without the upscale extras.
• Custom: This trim adds a body-coloured grille bar and a bit more visual polish, so it’s the first step up if you want the truck to feel less bare-bones without moving too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google built-in. If you want the biggest tech upgrade for your money, start here.
• LTZ: This trim adds a more premium look with chrome-heavy styling and C-shaped headlamps, making it a better fit if you want a more upscale-feeling heavy-duty truck.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the richest interior presentation in the review, including open-pore wood, leather trim, metal accents, and detailed stitching. It suits you if comfort and appearance matter as much as capability.
• ZR2: This is the off-road-specific pick, and it’s the one to choose if you want the most serious trail hardware. The Bison package adds Multimatic DSSV spool valve shocks, 35-inch tires, a lift, skid plating, and steel bumpers.

For safety, note that adaptive cruise control is optional across the range, so you should verify whether a used truck has it before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 302 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.53% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $68,696 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $68,958 CAD sits slightly below last year's $73,774 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may face a more competitive market than they would have a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less immediate downside than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The truck’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples with the right powertrain and trim.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has not been rated by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. GM’s Safety Seat is also highlighted as a useful alert feature on the test truck, and Buckle to Drive plus Teen Driver are available through the settings menu.

The main caveat is that not all advanced safety features come standard, and adaptive cruise control remains optional across the range. That means you should check the equipment list carefully on any used example, especially if you want a more complete safety package.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• This year brings a mid-cycle refresh with better styling and a new off-road trim, which makes it the most compelling version of this generation if you want the latest look and broader appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of updated styling, improved tech, and serious heavy-duty capability, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest price, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2024’s softer pricing and refreshed equipment make it the better all-around buy for most shoppers.
