What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 1LT is the base trim, but it is not yet available; the 2LT, 2RS, 3LT, and 3RS are the trims currently discussed. The base trim misses the LED light bar seen on higher trims, and the 2LT gets 19-inch wheels while the other trims use 21-inch versions.
• Powertrain: You can shop single-motor front-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive. The FWD version makes 213 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, while AWD increases output to 288 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, forward collision alert, automatic high beams, and more. Standard equipment also includes rear park assist, reverse automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, blind-zone steering assist, Safety Alert Seat, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and Teen Driver Technology. Super Cruise becomes available starting with the 2LT trim.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 11-inch driver-information screen, Google Built-In, and no standalone Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Range & charging: FWD models are estimated at 513 kilometres of range, while AWD models are estimated at 494 km, or 463 km with the 19.2 kW onboard charger. The battery is 85 kWh, and DC fast charging can reach up to 150 kW.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has typically been charged, and review whether most charging was done at home or through DC fast charging. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV is offered in 4 trim levels: 2LT, 2RS, 3LT, and 3RS.

Here's the short version:

• 2LT: This is the trim to target if you want the best-value entry point, since it brings the standard 17.7-inch touchscreen, the 11-inch driver display, Google Built-In, and the full standard safety suite while also being the gateway to Super Cruise availability.
• 2RS: Choose this if you want the sportier look and feel, including the more expressive styling and the larger wheel treatment, while still staying relatively close to the lower end of the range.
• 3LT: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale-feeling step up without going all the way to the sportiest trim, especially if you value the added interior and exterior presentation.
• 3RS: Pick this if you want the most fully dressed version in the lineup and are willing to pay for the top-end appearance and equipment mix.

Safety-package note: Super Cruise becomes available starting with the 2LT trim, and enhanced automatic parking assist is available on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 112 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,616 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV's resale value?

The current average of $37,314 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,041 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or lightly used. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside exposure later than someone who paid closer to the earlier average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, forward collision alert, automatic high beams, and more. The Equinox EV also gets standard rear park assist, reverse automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, blind-zone steering assist, Safety Alert Seat, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and Teen Driver Technology.

Super Cruise becomes available starting with the 2LT trim, and enhanced automatic parking assist is available on higher trims. That means the safety story is strong across the lineup, with some of the more advanced convenience and driver-assist features reserved for higher trims.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out for its strong value, impressive range, and quiet cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $40,263 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,314 CAD average.
• It offers 500 kilometres plus of range on a single charge.

The bottom line: If you want the better price today, the 2024 is the smarter buy. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year and its range-focused appeal, the 2025 is the alternative to watch.
