Used 2024 Buick Encore GX for Sale nearNewmarket, ON

How much does the 2024 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 9.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 274 listings available, which suggests you should have some inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2024 Encore GX fits well if you want a smartly refreshed subcompact crossover with an attractive design, a comfortable ride, and practical cargo space for its segment. It also brings an upscale feel for a small SUV, with a new touchscreen and a premium-looking cabin presentation.

The trade-offs are that the new touchscreen underwhelms and performance could be better, so it is not the best pick if you want the most engaging drive. Even so, it remains a sensible everyday choice with a smooth ride and economical nature.

Good and great deals account for 32.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Encore GX is described as Buick’s best-seller, and the 2024 model keeps the formula focused on comfort, practicality, and everyday usability. Its economical nature and decent powertrain support that reputation, while the smooth ride should make it easy to live with over time.

The powertrain is not especially quick, but it is responsive enough for daily use, and the available AWD system adds flexibility for changing conditions. Buick also backs the vehicle with a 3-year/60,000-kilometre basic limited warranty and a 5-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s modest performance and touchscreen complaints may matter more as the vehicle ages than its comfort-focused strengths.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir trims differ in presentation, with the Avenir getting its own unique grille and chrome trim, while the Sport Touring can add black roof, black mirrors, and black roof rails. The base trim misses some of the more upscale visual touches, so you should compare equipment carefully if you want the most premium feel.
• Powertrain: In Canada, you get a 1.3-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. It is available with FWD or AWD, and the selectable AWD system can help in poor weather.
• Safety package: Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch touchscreen paired with an 8-inch digital gauge cluster under one pane of glass. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and USB-A, USB-C, a wireless charging pad, and a 120-volt outlet are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Encore GX at 7.8 L/100 km in FWD form and 8.8 L/100 km with AWD.

Which 2024 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point and the best fit if you want the lowest-cost way into the Encore GX lineup. It gives you the core comfort, practicality, and standard safety equipment without paying for the more upscale appearance upgrades.
• Sport Touring: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of style and value. It adds a sportier look, and the available black roof, black mirrors, and black roof rails help it stand out without moving all the way to the top trim.
• Avenir: This is the most upscale choice, with its own unique grille and chrome trim for the most premium appearance. Choose it if you want the richest look and are willing to pay more for it.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim to get the core safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 274 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,729 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $28,769 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,709 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future sellers if they bought at a lower entry point. It also means you may face more competition from similarly priced listings when it is time to resell.

The Encore GX’s practical appeal, comfortable ride, and upscale image should help it stay relevant with used buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX earns five-star overall safety ratings from NHTSA, including five-star ratings for frontal crash and side crash, and a four-star rating for rollover.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.

The main caveat is that the 2024 model has not yet been rated by IIHS, so there is no current crashworthiness result for this model year. The safety setup is still strong, but some useful features remain optional.

Should I buy a 2024 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a refreshed look, a new touchscreen, and the first-year Avenir trim.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,354 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,769 CAD average.
• It offers comfort, useful space, and straightforward technology.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the refreshed styling, updated cabin, and stronger market selection. If price is your main priority, the 2023 is the better value path, especially if you are comfortable giving up the newer look and trim expansion.
