Used 2024 Buick Encore GX for Sale nearLondon, ON

How much does the 2024 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 7.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 260 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Buick Encore GX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

It stands out as a smartly refreshed subcompact crossover with an updated look, a flashy new touchscreen, and a comfortable, economical character. It is especially appealing if you want a stylish small SUV that balances everyday usability with a decent powertrain and a comfy ride.

The trade-offs are that the new touchscreen underwhelms and performance could be better, so it is better suited to relaxed commuting than enthusiastic driving.

With 36.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Encore GX is presented as a practical, easy-to-live-with crossover with a smooth ride and a decent powertrain. Its 5-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty also supports confidence for used buyers.

The powertrain is described as responsive enough for everyday use, though not quick, and the suspension is tuned to soak up rough pavement well. That points to a vehicle that should be comfortable to own, even if it is not the most exciting choice.

If you are buying used, the main long-term risk is that its modest performance and tech quirks may matter more to you over time than outright durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir trims give you different levels of style and equipment, with the Avenir adding a more premium look and the Sport Touring bringing blacked-out exterior touches. The base setup still includes Buick’s Driver Confidence package, but some convenience and parking features are reserved for higher equipment or extra cost.
• Powertrain: In Canada, you get a 1.3-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. It is described as decent and responsive enough, but not quick, and there is some roughness on take-off.
• Safety package: Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch touchscreen paired with an 8-inch digital gauge cluster under one pane of glass. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and USB-A, USB-C, a wireless charging pad, and a 120-volt outlet are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 7.8 L/100 km in FWD and 8.8 L/100 km with AWD. In testing, it returned 7.5 L/100 km over 585 kilometres.

Which 2024 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point and makes the most sense if you want the Encore GX’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get the refreshed design, the standard safety package, and the simple infotainment setup, so it covers the basics well.
• Sport Touring: This is the best-value choice if you want a more distinctive look without moving too far up the price ladder. The black roof, black mirrors, black roof rails, and other styling touches give it extra personality while keeping the same practical formula.
• Avenir: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the Encore GX. It adds the most premium appearance details, including its own grille and chrome trim, and suits you best if style and a more polished feel matter most.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard across the lineup, while rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera remain extra.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 260 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,584 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $28,584 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,001 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Encore GX is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you own one now, you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if similar listings remain plentiful.

The good news for future resale is that the model’s refreshed styling, practical cargo space, and comfortable ride give it broad appeal. Those traits can help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, including five-star ratings for frontal crash and side crash, and a four-star rating for rollover.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.

One caveat is that the automatic braking system cannot be adjusted for sensitivity, and the 2024 model had not yet been rated by IIHS at the time of review.

Should I buy a 2024 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a refreshed look, a new touchscreen, and the first Avenir trim for this model year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,086 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,584 CAD average.
• It is a practical, easy-to-live-with crossover with plenty of cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest styling, broader trim choice, and stronger current-market support, the 2024 is the better pick. If your priority is saving money and you are comfortable giving up the update, the 2023 is the value play.

The Buick comes across as the more polished and comfortable choice, especially if you value ride quality and cargo space. The Trailblazer counters with a lower average used price and more listings, so it may appeal more if you are shopping strictly on budget.
