Used 2024 Buick Encore GX for Sale nearKitchener, ON

How much does the 2024 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 8.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 274 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Buick Encore GX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

It stands out as a smartly refreshed subcompact crossover with an attractive design, a comfortable ride, and practical cargo space for its segment. The trade-offs are that the new touchscreen underwhelms and performance could be better, so it suits you best if you want an easygoing, upscale-feeling daily driver rather than the most engaging small SUV.

With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Encore GX is presented as Buick’s best-selling model, and its economical nature and comfortable ride point to a vehicle built for everyday use. Its powertrain is described as decent and responsive enough, which supports the impression of a straightforward, low-drama ownership experience.

You should still weigh the usual used-car risks around electronics and wear items, but the overall package points to manageable long-term ownership risk if the vehicle has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The refreshed look and premium-feeling cabin are strongest on higher trims, while the base setup misses some of the visual polish and equipment that make the Encore GX feel more upscale.
• Powertrain: In Canada, you get the 1.3-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, paired with a nine-speed automatic. It is responsive enough for daily driving, but it is not especially quick and can feel rough on take-off.
• Safety package: Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch touchscreen with an 8-inch digital gauge cluster under one glass panel, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. USB-A and USB-C ports are included, and a wireless charging pad and 120-volt outlet are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Encore GX at 7.8 L/100 km in front-wheel drive and 8.8 L/100 km with all-wheel drive.

Which 2024 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Encore GX’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get the standard safety suite and the efficient front-wheel-drive setup, but it is the least lavish way to buy into the refreshed design.
• Sport Touring: This is the best-value choice if you want a more distinctive look without jumping to the top trim. It adds some visual flair, and the available black roof, black mirrors, and black roof rails help it stand out.
• Avenir: This is the most upscale version, with its own unique grille and chrome trim. If you want the most premium-feeling Encore GX, this is the one to target.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim to get the core safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Buick Encore GX?

The market looks moderately favourable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 274 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.86% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,729 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $28,854 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,660 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests buyers have more leverage today than they did a year ago. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. For a future seller, the key will be keeping the vehicle in strong condition and priced competitively against the broader used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2024 Buick Encore GX earns five-star ratings in frontal crash and side crash, and four-star ratings in rollover from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Buick’s Driver Confidence package is standard and includes lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera are extra.

A key caveat is that the 2024 model has not yet been rated by IIHS, so you should pay attention to how the available safety equipment is configured on the specific vehicle you are considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a refreshed look, a new touchscreen, and the first Avenir trim for this model year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,207 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,854 CAD average.
• It offers comfort, useful space, and straightforward technology.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed styling, updated cabin tech, and broader trim choice, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the smarter value play, especially if you can live without the latest update.
