Used 2024 BMW X5 for Sale nearWinnipeg, MB

How much does the 2024 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 10.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 167 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.8/5, and our experts give it 7.7/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its impressive technology, smooth hybrid performance, and comfort. The X5 also stands out for hands-free driving and electric range, which are recurring favourites among owners.

The trade-offs are that voice recognition technology is poor and advanced safety features are not standard. That matters most if you want a luxury SUV that feels especially well equipped right out of the gate.

For you, the X5 makes the most sense if you want a premium midsize SUV that prioritizes driving enjoyment, comfort, and plug-in hybrid practicality. It also has 40.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, which is a healthy market signal.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as smooth, comfortable, and technology-rich, with praise for the kind of ownership experience that feels dependable over time. The plug-in hybrid setup also adds a practical side that many owners seem happy to live with day to day.

BMW’s test-drive notes also point to a well-built SUV with strong road manners and a powertrain that feels refined in regular use. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps soften early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is still a complex luxury SUV, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X5’s styling has aged well, but the M Sport treatment is not for everyone, and the optional 21-inch wheel package is worth considering if you want the look and can accept higher replacement-tire costs.
• Powertrain: You can get a turbocharged inline six-cylinder, a turbo-six plug-in hybrid, a turbocharged V8, or a higher-performance turbo V8. The plug-in hybrid stands out for its electric range and strong overall power.
• Safety package: Highway Assistant hands-free driving assistance is available, but you need to activate it deliberately through the safety menu and Assisted Driving Plus cruise control mode. Advanced safety features are not standard.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel with a 14.9-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and BMW Operating System 8.5 are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The xDrive50e is rated at 10.6 L/100 km in combined driving, and our test route returned 6.0 L/100 km.

Which 2024 BMW X5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X5 is offered in 4 trim levels: xDrive40i, xDrive50e, M60i, X5 M Competition.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive40i: This is the entry point if you want the X5 experience at the lowest price. It gives you the core luxury-SUV formula, but you’ll want to compare equipment carefully because BMW reserves some desirable features for higher trims and packages.
• xDrive50e: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds plug-in hybrid capability, strong performance, and meaningful electric-only driving range. If you want the most rounded version of the X5, this is the one to focus on.
• M60i: Choose this if you want a stronger V8-powered personality and are willing to pay more for it. It suits buyers who care more about performance than efficiency.
• X5 M Competition: This is the full performance model for buyers who want maximum output and the most aggressive driving character. It is the least subtle and the most specialised of the group.

BMW’s hands-free Highway Assistant is available, but advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X5?

It looks like a buyer’s market right now, especially if you’re comparing listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 167 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.31% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $70,384 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $72,180 CAD sits slightly below last year's $80,479 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. A softer used-price environment usually means future sellers may need to price more competitively to attract attention.

Even so, the X5’s premium positioning and strong owner satisfaction help support demand. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain it well, you should still have a solid audience when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 safe?

The 2024 X5 earns high ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, although lower headlight ratings kept it from earning an IIHS safety award. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives it an overall four-star crash-test rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW’s Highway Assistant hands-free driving assistance system is available, and it works best in dense, slow-moving traffic or light traffic at higher speeds. It also includes Assisted Driving Plus cruise control mode, with status shown through the digital instrument cluster or head-up display.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, and the system can behave unpredictably in some traffic situations. That means you should test the driver-assistance setup carefully before you buy.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a substantial update, including the BMW Curved Display and a stronger plug-in hybrid setup.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $85,355 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $72,180 CAD average.
• It adds a limited-edition 25th-anniversary model.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it already captures the major update and sits at a much lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and don’t mind limited changes, the 2025 is the cleaner alternative.
