Is the 2024 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW X3 earns a 5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal if you want a luxury SUV that feels sporty, premium, and engaging on the road. It also balances a high seating position and easy access with everyday usability, while staying a more affordable alternative to BMW’s larger SUV. For you, that means a strong fit if you want a practical luxury SUV that still feels agile and rewarding to drive. 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 BMW X3 is described as a model with strong powertrains, high-quality interiors, and technology that has improved over time without losing its sporty character. It also benefits from the third generation’s reputation for excellent tech, improved interior quality, and better performance than earlier models. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium vehicles can bring higher maintenance and repair costs than non-luxury alternatives.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 396 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $46,486 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $47,732 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,670 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also suggests future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. If you plan to resell later, the current trend points to a model that is holding value reasonably well rather than appreciating. Strong demand from shoppers who want a sporty luxury SUV should still support interest, especially if your vehicle is well equipped and well maintained. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $62,949 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,732 CAD average.
• The redesign brings a more distinctive minimalist cabin and updated technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability. If you care more about the redesigned look and updated cabin approach, the 2025 is the better alternative, but you should expect to pay significantly more.
