Is the 2024 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW X3 earns a 5/5 user rating, and its appeal comes from blending practicality with the driving dynamics BMW is known for. It is a sporty-feeling compact luxury SUV that drives more like a regular car than an SUV, while still giving you the high seating position and easy access many shoppers want. It also stands out as a more affordable alternative to the larger X5, while still delivering premium features and strong driving engagement.

That mix makes it a smart fit if you want a family-friendly SUV that still feels sharp on the road. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 BMW X3 is described as a strong third-generation model with modern technology, premium features, and a well-rounded driving experience. At the same time, used examples should be checked carefully for electronics issues, oil leaks, cooling system issues, and a full maintenance history.

For used buyers, that means reliability can be solid, but your long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how well the vehicle was maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 331 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $46,518 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $47,433 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,473 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour as a buyer, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy well today, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the upper end of the range. The X3’s premium positioning and broad appeal should still help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $62,232 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $47,433 CAD average.
• The redesign brings a more minimalist cabin and updated technology.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2024 if you want the stronger value play, proven formula, and a more approachable price. Consider the 2025 if you are willing to pay more for the redesigned look and newer tech, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2024 the better overall buy.
