Is the 2024 BMW 2 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW 2 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. BMW positioned it as an entry point for buyers who want a fun driving experience and compact proportions, and its rear-wheel-drive layout and available manual transmission help it stand apart from rivals. If you value a sporty feel more than outright luxury, that formula is a strong fit. The market also shows 33.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW 2 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 model is largely a carryover, so its appeal comes from established hardware and equipment rather than a major redesign. For used buyers, that usually means fewer surprises than a brand-new or heavily revised model, though you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 59 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,413 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $40,789 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,240 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays soft. The current range still leaves room for well-kept examples to hold value better than average. Strong demand for the model’s sporty character should help support interest from used-car shoppers over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $45,122 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $40,789 CAD average.
• It adds more power and technology while staying sporty.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the better value and are focused on the coupe’s core driving appeal. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter path; if you want the newer model’s added tech and can stretch your budget, the 2025 is worth a look.
