Used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan for Sale nearLongueuil, QC

How much does the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Prices have softened 16.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 850 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It stands out in the compact crossover segment by pairing a more upscale look with a driving experience that is more enjoyable than many primary competitors. It is also larger inside than many rivals, and it is one of only two vehicles in its segment to offer a third-row seat, which gives you extra passenger flexibility.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the cabin technology can be unintuitive. Its ergonomic design is also described as poor, so it suits you best if you value style, interior room, and road manners more than outright speed or a highly intuitive layout.

With 28.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of value-oriented inventory to consider.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tiguan is presented as a practical, polished small SUV with strong everyday usability, and its robust construction and solid assembly support that impression. Its safety and driver-assistance technology also worked well in testing, with refined operation and few false alerts.

Volkswagen also includes a complimentary subscription to Car-Net Remote Access with features such as remote engine starting, Family Guardian safety features, and a find my car function.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Tiguan’s touch-heavy controls, infotainment quirks, and uneven power delivery may remain frustrating over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The trim walk starts with Trendline and moves up through Comfortline, Comfortline R-Line Black, and Highline R-Line. The base setup includes keyless entry with remote start and an 8-way power driver’s seat, while the Highline R-Line adds the sportier look, larger 20-inch wheels, adaptive front lighting, and a light bar across the grille. If you want the most upscale presentation, the Highline R-Line is the one to target.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In Canada, 4Motion all-wheel drive is standard, and the drivetrain offers Eco, Normal, Sport, Individual, Onroad, Snow, Offroad, and Custom Offroad settings.
• Safety package: Front Assist and Side Assist are standard, with forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. IQ.Drive adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active blind-spot monitoring, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist, and it is optional on base models but standard on other models.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while other versions get an 8-inch display. R-Line trims add a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, Car-Net connected services, SiriusXM 360L, and a nine-speaker Fender premium sound system are available on the top trim.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the R-Line trims should average 9.8 L/100 km in combined driving, and testing returned 10.4 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in 4 trim levels: Trendline, Comfortline, Comfortline R-Line Black, and Highline R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Trendline: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Tiguan’s core strengths without stretching the budget. You still get standard safety tech, keyless entry with remote start, and the 8-way power driver’s seat, so it covers the essentials well.
• Comfortline: This is the trim to consider if you want a more balanced mix of equipment and value. It builds on the base model with a better overall feature set while staying below the sportier R-Line versions.
• Comfortline R-Line Black: Choose this if you want the R-Line styling treatment without going all the way to the top trim. It adds a more distinctive appearance while keeping the Tiguan’s practical strengths intact.
• Highline R-Line: This is the best-equipped version and the one to buy if you want the most upscale Tiguan experience. It adds the sportier styling, 20-inch wheels, adaptive front lighting, the illuminated grille light bar, and the most complete cabin equipment.

IQ.Drive is optional on base models and standard on the other trims, so safety-minded shoppers should pay close attention to that difference.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 850 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,193 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $27,193 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,451 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Tiguan more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The Tiguan’s strong utility, upscale presentation, and broad appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want extra room and a third row in a compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan safe?

The 2023 Tiguan earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS for the 2022 calendar year, though that rating does not apply for the 2023 calendar year.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Front Assist and Side Assist are standard, and they include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Volkswagen also includes an Automatic Post Collision Braking System, while IQ.Drive adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active blind-spot monitoring, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist.

One caveat is that NHTSA testing was incomplete at the time of review, and NHTSA also noted that the driver’s door unlatched and opened during the side-impact test.

Should I buy a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines an upscale look with extra passenger flexibility, including an available third row.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,000 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,193 CAD average.
• It refines the formula with added safety tech and strong everyday usability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,503 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $27,193 CAD average.
• It adds upgrades that boost value and standard safety equipment.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want the Tiguan’s upscale feel, roomy cabin, and strong safety focus at a softened market price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the better value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer upgrades and can stretch your budget.
