Is the 2023 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, technology, and comfort, and many also highlight the fast acceleration, easy charging, and spacious interior. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a used EV that balances everyday practicality with a roomy cabin and plenty of standard equipment. Is the 2023 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for easy charging and a trouble-free feel in day-to-day use. That said, some owners mention range accuracy concerns, so you should pay close attention to how the vehicle has been used and whether its charging and battery performance match your needs. For a used buyer, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about making sure the EV’s real-world range and feature set still suit your routine.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 287 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,278 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $42,496 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,819 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can work in your favour as a buyer today but may temper what a future seller can expect in the near term. Even so, the Model Y’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal should help support demand when it is time to resell. If you keep mileage reasonable and the vehicle remains in good condition, you are more likely to preserve value than if you buy at the top of the range and sell quickly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want a well-equipped used EV with strong owner approval and a market that has become a bit more buyer-friendly. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 remains the better all-around choice when you want a balance of value, features, and owner satisfaction.
