Is the 2023 RAM 3500 a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating points to a truck that satisfies many shoppers who need serious capability with daily-driver comfort. The 2023 RAM 3500’s appeal comes from its heavy-duty towing and payload strength, plus the added luxury and technology that make it feel more refined than a basic work truck. It also offers a wide range of configurations, so you can tailor it to work, towing, or mixed-use needs. 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 RAM 3500’s reliability story is tied to its heavy-duty design and the way it balances capability with upgraded materials, a stronger frame, and revised suspension. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck built for demanding work may have seen hard use, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 429 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.28% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $69,100 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $69,109 CAD sits slightly below last year's $77,898 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make future resale a little more sensitive to mileage, condition, and equipment. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation compared with paying closer to the top of the range. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can still support values, especially when the truck is well equipped and properly maintained.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2023 RAM 3500 is the better pick if you want the strongest mix of capability, comfort, and modern tech in this generation, especially if you plan to tow or haul regularly. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2023 stands out as the more compelling choice when you want the updated features and a market that has already softened.
