Is the 2023 RAM 3500 a good car?

Generally — 4/5 is a strong user rating for a heavy-duty truck, and the 2023 RAM 3500 backs that up with serious capability plus the kind of comfort and technology you can live with every day. Its appeal is strongest if you want class-leading towing and payload capacity without giving up a more upscale cabin, modern infotainment, and available convenience features. The trade-off is that its size can be difficult to manage in towns and cities, and it is still very much a large truck that asks a lot of its driver.

The 2023 RAM 3500 is described as a capable heavy-duty truck with a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models, which supports confidence in its underlying hardware. At the same time, its diesel engine is noisy and the truck is still very large, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic competence and more about whether you are prepared for its size and heavy-duty operating demands.

What is the 2023 RAM 3500's resale value?

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also mean future sellers need to price more competitively. If you own one for a few years, the combination of strong capability and broad appeal should help it stay relevant with shoppers who need real towing and hauling strength. The biggest resale advantage will likely come from well-kept examples that present as capable, modern, and properly maintained.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?
