Used 2023 RAM 2500 for Sale nearBurnaby, BC

How much does the 2023 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 12.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 452 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of choice if you’re comparing trims and equipment.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 RAM 2500 earns a 4.2/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its power, comfort, and usefulness for towing and utility work, and they also like the technology and luxury touches. The truck’s spacious, comfortable cabin fits the use case well if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle demanding work without feeling bare-bones inside.

The main trade-offs are the flimsy-feeling column shifter and the difficulty getting in and out, while the expensive turbodiesel option can push the price up quickly. Even so, 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable for power, comfort, towing, and utility use, with many shoppers saying it meets their needs well over the long haul. That said, some owners raised concerns about reliability, particularly with the transmission, so you’ll want to pay close attention to service history and how the truck has been used.

The expert drive notes also frame it as a capable, refined heavy-duty truck that can handle rough conditions without feeling fragile. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any truck you consider has been maintained carefully, especially if it has the diesel powertrain or has spent its life towing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rebel stands apart with its aggressive blacked-out look, Rebel-specific grille, 20-inch wheels, and crew-cab body with a 6-foot, 4-inch cargo bed. Compared with the Power Wagon, it skips the graphics and badging, the 17-inch wheels, and the integrated winch, so you should decide whether you want the Rebel’s style and hardware or the more specialised Power Wagon setup.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.4-litre V8 with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, plus an available 6.7-litre Cummins turbodiesel with 370 hp and 850 lb-ft. The V8 is the better choice if you want maximum towing and payload, while the diesel suits you if you value stronger low-end torque and better efficiency.
• Safety package: The truck can be equipped with automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking including for trailer brakes, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. You’ll want to confirm which of these systems are fitted on the specific truck you’re considering.
• Infotainment: Look for the 12-inch digital instrumentation panel and the next-generation Uconnect 5 system with the 12-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, and navigation are included, and the truck can also be equipped with blind-spot cameras and a digital rearview mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive recorded 12.3 L/100 km on mostly highway driving, 14.6 L/100 km on mountain roads, and 16.0 L/100 km off-road with the Cummins diesel. The 6.4-litre V8 was observed at 22.8 L/100 km under the same route and conditions.

Which 2023 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2023 RAM 2500 is offered in 7 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Power Wagon, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the entry point if you want the core heavy-duty capability without paying for the more luxurious or specialised trims. It makes sense if your priority is work-first utility and you plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• Big Horn: This is the sensible step up if you want a bit more everyday comfort and convenience than the base truck, while still keeping the price and equipment level relatively grounded.
• Rebel: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest mix of off-road hardware, comfort, and tech. It adds the aggressive Rebel look, the available Cummins turbodiesel, and useful trailering and camera upgrades, making it the most distinctive all-rounder in the lineup.
• Power Wagon: Choose this if your priority is the most specialised off-road character in the range. The content frames it as the benchmark for adventure-focused hardware, though it gives up some towing and payload capability compared with the Rebel.
• Laramie: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale cabin and a stronger emphasis on comfort and features than the lower trims provide.
• Limited Longhorn: Pick this if you want a more premium, distinctive feel with a stronger luxury lean than the mainstream trims.
• Limited: This is the top-end choice if you want the most upscale presentation and equipment in the lineup.

The safety package is broad, but you should verify exactly which driver-assistance features are included on the truck you’re shopping, since equipment can vary by build.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 452 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.82% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $68,401 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $68,701 CAD sits slightly below last year's $78,801 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more competition if prices stay soft. If you buy now at a lower entry point, you may reduce some of the depreciation pressure that comes with a higher purchase price. Strong equipment, desirable trims, and well-documented maintenance should help support resale appeal when it’s time to move on.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2023 RAM 2500 does not have crash-test ratings listed here.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a broad ADAS suite on this truck, including automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking including for trailer brakes, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. That’s a strong feature set for a heavy-duty pickup, especially if you do a lot of towing or highway driving.

The expert notes also point out that the truck’s size and weight may matter more in a single-vehicle crash than in a typical collision scenario. If you’re shopping used, make sure the specific truck has the driver-assistance equipment you want, since not every example will be equipped the same way.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel is presented as a strong answer to rivals, with impressive off-road capability, a powerful turbodiesel engine option, and a spacious, comfortable cabin.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck that mixes capability, comfort, and a strong feature set, the 2023 is the year to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, keep comparing listings closely and target trucks near the lower end of the range, especially if they have the equipment and service history you want.
