Used 2023 RAM 1500 for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2023 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 11.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,210 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 RAM 1500 earns a 4.65/5 from owners and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its upscale interior, comfortable ride, and solid performance, and they also like its stylish design and good fuel economy for a full-size truck. In practical terms, that lines up well with the truck’s comfort-first personality and its appeal to buyers who want a pickup that feels more refined than a basic work truck.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the competition offers more technology. Even so, the 2023 RAM 1500 still looks like a strong fit if you want comfort, materials, and driving feel without giving up real truck capability.

With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is enough market flexibility to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.65/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with praise for its comfortable ride, upscale cabin, and solid performance. The expert review also reinforces that impression by describing the Ram as a viable full-size truck with a classy design and smooth ride.

The powertrain warranty coverage is also reassuring for used buyers, especially if you are comparing gas and diesel versions. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about basic durability and more about choosing a truck whose equipment and maintenance history match how you plan to use it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The trim spread runs from Tradesman to TRX, with the Limited sitting near the top. Lower trims miss some of the upscale touches found higher up, while the Limited adds leather, open-pore wood, metallic trim, and a 12-inch portrait-oriented screen.
• Powertrain: You can get rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, with a 3.6-litre V6 with eTorque on lower trims, a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 on upper trims, a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel on most trims, and a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in the TRX. The eTorque system adds extra low-speed torque and helps fuel economy.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning is not standard, and blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning are optional or bundled. Trailer-capable blind-spot monitoring is especially useful if you tow.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 5-inch screen, mid trims use an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and upper trims can have a 12-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the upper trims can add a head-up display, digital rearview mirror, and surround-view camera system.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel is the most efficient option at 11.1 L/100 km city, 8.0 highway, and 9.7 combined. The V8 4WD eTorque model is rated at 13.5 L/100 km city, 10.5 highway, and 12.1 combined, while the TRX is far thirstier at 22.4 L/100 km city, 16.5 highway, and 19.8 combined.

Which 2023 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2023 RAM 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the least expensive path into the lineup, but it is also the most basic. It makes sense if you want the Ram name and core truck capability at the lowest entry point, but you should expect fewer comfort and tech features than the higher trims.
• Big Horn: This is the first step up if you want a more everyday-friendly truck without jumping too far in price. It should suit you if you want a better balance of equipment and value than the Tradesman.
• Sport: This trim adds a more distinctive appearance and sits in the middle of the range, making it a sensible choice if you want more style without moving into luxury-truck territory.
• Rebel: This is the trim to consider if you want the off-road-focused setup mentioned in the review, including a 2.5-centimetre lift, skid plates, and hill-descent control.
• Laramie: This is where the cabin starts to feel notably more upscale, so it is a strong choice if you care about comfort and interior quality.
• Limited Longhorn: This trim leans into premium materials and a more distinctive upscale look, making it a good fit if you want luxury-truck character with a traditional flavour.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it combines the premium interior, the 12-inch portrait screen, and the richer feature content without going all the way to TRX pricing.
• TRX: This is the extreme performance model, with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 and serious off-road hardware. It is the right pick only if you want maximum performance and are willing to accept the fuel-cost penalty.

For safety equipment, remember that advanced driver-assist features are not standard, so you should check carefully for the packages you want on any trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,210 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,367 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $41,579 CAD sits slightly below last year's $47,143 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make future resale a little more competitive for sellers. If you buy at today’s average or below, you may have less room for appreciation later unless the truck is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean.

The good news is that the RAM 1500 still has broad appeal thanks to its comfort, upscale cabin, and strong owner satisfaction. That kind of demand can help support resale value over time, especially for desirable trims and well-maintained examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.65/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 RAM 1500 safe?

The Ram 1500 earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it Good marks across the board except for Marginal grades for seat belt reminders and LATCH ease of use, and the Limited, Longhorn and TRX headlights earn Good grades while all other trims get Marginal marks.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Ram 1500 falters a bit on standard advanced driver-assist systems. Nothing is standard across the board, not even forward collision warning. Blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning are all optional or bundled in packages.

If you add blind-spot monitoring, it can cover the length of a trailer, which is a useful feature if you tow in traffic. The main caveat is that you should not assume a used example has the safety equipment you want unless you verify the build sheet carefully.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.65/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds a new available reconfigurable 12-inch gauge cluster.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $40,694 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,579 CAD average.
• It blends design, comfort, utility, technology, and driving character in an easy-to-appreciate way.

The bottom line: If you want the newer-year pricing context and the added gauge-cluster update, the 2023 is the cleaner pick. If your priority is saving a bit of money up front, the 2022 remains a strong alternative and may be the better value if you find a well-kept example.
