Used 2023 Nissan Altima for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2023 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 14.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 85 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its impressive fuel economy, responsive driving experience, and quality audio system. It also comes across as a cost-effective, practical choice, and many shoppers will appreciate that it remains a traditional family sedan in a market increasingly dominated by SUVs. On the other hand, the expert review points to fairly pedestrian performance and a cabin that feels cheap in places.

For you, that means the Altima makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, easy-to-live-with sedan with straightforward tech and strong everyday value. It is also one of the few midsize sedans still standing, which adds appeal if you prefer a conventional car over a crossover. The market shows 28.2% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and cost-effective, with a reputation for being a car you can count on for everyday use. The expert review also notes that Nissan has been building its CVTs for decades, and that the transmission does a decent job of mimicking a traditional automatic. The Altima’s standard all-wheel drive and straightforward mechanical setup should help it feel familiar over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the car’s modest performance and cabin quality will still suit your needs after a few years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the essentials, but higher trims add more visual polish and equipment. The higher trims also get 19-inch wheel designs, while the cabin remains mainstream with plenty of hard plastic.
• Powertrain: Every Canadian Altima uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a CVT and standard AWD. Output is 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, and the power delivery is described as adequate rather than exciting.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver monitoring system, rear-seat reminder, Easy Fill Tire Alert, rear automatic braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. ProPilot Assist is included on SR Premium and Platinum.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio with 360L. SR Premium and Platinum get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, navigation via smartphone app, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: Official Natural Resources Canada ratings are 9.1 L/100 km city, 6.5 highway, and 7.9 combined for the base trim, or 9.3 city, 6.7 highway, and 8.1 combined for SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Which 2023 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR trim, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the Altima’s standard AWD, core safety tech, and basic infotainment without paying for extras. It makes the most sense if you care more about practicality than premium features.
• SR trim: This is the sportier-looking choice, and it adds a more expressive appearance while staying close to the core Altima formula. It suits you if you want a little more style without moving too far up the price ladder.
• SR Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, Bose audio, and ProPilot Assist. It is the sweet spot if you want the biggest jump in convenience and tech.
• Platinum: This is the most fully equipped version, adding the surround-view camera system and the most upscale feature set in the lineup. Choose it if you want the most comfort and visibility help.

ProPilot Assist is standard only on SR Premium and Platinum, so if that highway-driving aid matters to you, stay above the lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Altima?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 85 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,159 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $23,176 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,234 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Altima is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you are shopping now but may pressure future resale values if the market stays soft. For a seller, it means pricing competitively will matter more than ever, especially if you want to stand out against the available inventory. The good news is that the Altima’s practical reputation and standard AWD should continue to support steady demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2023 Nissan Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and five-star rollover resistance ratings, though it receives a four-star rating for front passenger frontal impact safety. It earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS, but the updated side-impact test result is a Poor rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every version and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver monitoring system, rear-seat reminder, Easy Fill Tire Alert, rear automatic braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. ProPilot Assist is standard on SR Premium and Platinum, adding adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centring assist.

The main caveat is the poor IIHS side-impact result, so if safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to how that fits your comfort level.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard AWD with strong safety tech and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,921 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,176 CAD average.
• It uses a simpler three-trim lineup with standard AWD.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,344 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $23,176 CAD average.
• It adds subtle updates and an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, standard AWD, and modern safety tech, the 2023 is the strongest all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is worth a look; if you want a newer model with similar strengths, the 2024 is the alternative to compare.
