That softer pricing suggests future sellers may need to stay competitive if market conditions remain similar. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Stronger demand tends to follow vehicles that shoppers trust and recognise.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,071 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,123 CAD average.
• It pairs a lower price with a bold design that still stands out.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the better value-focused path, especially if you find one in good condition.
