How much does the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE cost?

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a midsize luxury SUV that blends prestige, performance and practicality, with an impeccable ride, agile handling and a high-quality interior. The lineup also broadens its appeal with a plug-in hybrid variant that adds electrified driving to the SUV’s luxury character.

The trade-offs are that AMG models are thirsty and expensive, and options can quickly push the price upward.

With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLE is presented as a luxury SUV that feels built to last, with a cabin that is both high quality and robust-looking. Its powertrain and chassis tuning also point to a vehicle designed for smooth, confident everyday use.

The plug-in hybrid’s transition from gas to electric power is almost undetectable, and the transmission is seamless when changing gears. Mercedes also notes that the GLE 450e can operate as a silent-running EV on the highway, which adds to its everyday refinement.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that luxury features and higher-spec versions can bring higher running costs over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin quality is a major strength, but the base setup may not feel as richly equipped as higher trims with more upscale materials and finishes.
• Powertrain: The range includes turbocharged four- and six-cylinder options, plus a plug-in hybrid with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, electric motor and 23.3-kWh battery pack.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection, hands-free park assist, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights and a driver attention monitor.
• Infotainment: You get a pair of 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and an improved voice command system.
• Fuel efficiency: The plug-in hybrid is rated at 4.1 litres-equivalent per 100 kilometres, or 10.5 city/9.1 highway/9.9 combined in hybrid mode.

Which 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 3 trim levels: GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 4Matic+.

Here's the short version:

• GLE 350 4Matic: This is the entry point and the value-focused choice if you want the GLE’s luxury feel without stretching to the pricier performance models.
• GLE 450 4Matic: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger balance of performance and everyday usability.
• AMG GLE 53 4Matic+: Choose this if you want the most performance-focused version, but expect higher running costs.

The safety package is broad, with several advanced driver-assistance features standard and more available on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 274 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $67,525 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $67,728 CAD sits slightly below last year's $83,156 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale values to depend heavily on condition, mileage and equipment level.

Because the GLE sits in the luxury segment, well-kept examples with desirable features should still draw interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE gets a safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) of Top Safety Pick+ based on the 2022 model year.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard features include blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection, hands-free park assist, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights and a driver attention monitor. Optional features include active blind-spot assist, active lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, traffic sign recognition, active lane change assist and evasive steering assist.

Should I buy a 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• A subtle refresh keeps the model competitive, while the plug-in hybrid adds a useful efficiency-focused option.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $59,956 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $67,728 CAD average.
• It offers a low-roofed SUV coupe shape that gives it a more distinctive, style-led presence.

The bottom line: If you want the broader appeal of the 2023 GLE’s updated tech, strong comfort and available plug-in hybrid, it is the better all-round pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the more price-sensitive alternative.
