Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

It fits buyers who want a refined, modern compact luxury SUV without a dramatic break from the familiar formula. The conservative redesign keeps the appeal centred on comfort, premium interior materials, and a polished cabin, while the trade-offs are that it does not offer much cargo space and it is not especially exciting to drive.

The market shows 33.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLC is presented as a polished, comfort-first luxury SUV with a reputation for refinement, and the expert test drive notes that its systems feel well sorted in use. The performance content also points to smooth acceleration and a nearly silent cabin, which supports the impression of a well-engineered vehicle.

Its infotainment and driver-assistance systems are described as dependable in day-to-day use, with voice control that can be relied on for many functions and adaptive cruise control that operates smoothly and trustworthily. If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is more about feature complexity and upkeep than basic mechanical character.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard GLC 300 is the main redesigned model, while the GLC Coupe carries over with an older interior and a coupe-like roofline. The Coupe also comes standard with cross-traffic alerts and the surround-view camera, which are not listed as standard on the new GLC 300.
• Powertrain: The GLC 300 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, paired with a 9-speed automatic and 4Matic all-wheel drive. It is tuned for smooth, comfortable acceleration rather than sporty urgency.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. The optional Intelligent Drive package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, lane change assist, and emergency stop assist.
• Infotainment: The cabin centres on an 11.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system also supports strong voice recognition, but the screen placement and touch-heavy controls can be distracting.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLC 300 is estimated at 10.4 L/100 km in city driving, 9.1 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.8 L/100 km combined.

What is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $48,990 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,757 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, you are starting from a lower entry point than last year’s shoppers, which can help cushion depreciation. The GLC’s premium positioning and strong satisfaction rating should help support demand, but resale will still depend on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Should I buy a 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings the conservative redesign and upgraded interior that keep it at the top of the small luxury SUV class.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,104 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $48,990 CAD average.
• It adds a broader lineup with AMG variants returning.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the better value and the core GLC experience at a lower entry price. Consider the 2024 if you want a broader trim range and are willing to pay more for it.
